TRIGGER WARNING- Permanently disabled kitten due to human neglect NEEDS our help! We would like to introduce Hunter. He needs to see a specialist so we can get some answers on his quality of life and we NEED your help to do so!! This poor kitten has been failed miserably by humans. One of our volunteers got a call about a kitten that someone dumped outside in the cold. They had found Hunter weak, starving, and a mess. They brought him in to give him a bath, and during it dropped him on tile floor directly on his head. Then, decided to put him back outside, soaking wet with his brain swelling 😡 After a few days was when were notified. Our volunteer found him freezing and unable to move. She quickly got him home and started to slowly warm him up, and with our best vet on the phone, we stabilized him to get him and got him in first thing in the morning. Hunter has brain damage from trauma and hypothermia. He is mostly blind, his head is permanently tilted, he can not regulate his body temperature and has to either be with you or on a heating pad, and he wobbles and falls over often. He eats, but he’s not good at it, and drinking water is almost an impossible task. Hunter has been in our care now for the past month. As you can see in the video, he is the SWEETEST. We need to get him to UF when Mario comes home to see if we can learn more about his condition and if there is a way to make his day to day a little easier. We have no idea how long he can live like this. Since he has been with us, we have seen small improvements, and we can't give up on him yet! 🐶 Coco (Gomez) Training Update 🐶 Coco was placed in board and train due to high levels of dog reactivity and starting to show some resource guarding over his foster. Well, one week of board and train is done so far, and Coco is doing GREAT! His trainer says that he is so smart!!! He has been super engaged and playful on the other side of the fence from dogs which is a HUGE progression already. Thank you @diversityk9 for your great training, updates, and willingness to take him on so quickly! He still has 3-5 weeks to go and the costs add up quickly at $80 per day. Gomez (now known as Coco) starts his board and train tomorrow! While he has made great progress with his foster, his behaviors need a little more professional help and he starts his 6 week training program with DiversityK9! We know this will be getting him on the right path to finding a forever home as they work with his past trauma and puppy tendencies. Board and train programs are expensive and cost upwards of $3000. PUPDATE! We are happy to share this happy update about the 8 dogs rescued on Monday All 8 dogs and puppies have settled into their foster homes. 5 out of 8 have been groomed thanks to Pooch Parlor and bark_park_road_grooming. They generously donated their time and services to help these severely matted pups. The last three are the mommas and needed a little time to decompress before getting groomed. Our two pregnant mommies gave birth to 10 healthy babies on the same day! Mommies and babies are doing great and their fosters have done amazing making sure they are all healthy and well taken care of. The daddy has been neutered, groomed and had the cherry in his eye repaired. He is settling into his foster home and will be available for adoption soon. Special thanks to our emergency fosters that took the pups to safety immediately when we put out a plea for help. Without them we would not have been able to save them. HAPPY TAILS Our boy Loki Carl FINALLY gets the happy ending he deserves after 6 long months of healing his leg and waiting for his new family. About a month ago, he was cleared by the vet to no longer need treatment! After months of PT and xrays, at 11 months old he finally got to be a real dog! A month before that appointment, he got an application that we knew would be a great fit. We were upfront about his ongoing care. The foster stayed in communication with the potential adopter the whole time. Once we got the green light from the vet he couldn't wait to bring his new dog home!! Loki Carl has a good yard to run in, a new doggy brother to play with, and a dad to spoil him endlessly. None of this would be possible without everyone who donated to his care, his amazing medical team, and his foster, who spent so much time and gave so much love while he waited for his new family ❤️ Congratulations Loki Carl, we are so excited for this next part of your journey!

Pupdate on the pup we pulled from OCAS last week! Sorry for the delay in updates, but this pup we are now calling Florence is doing so good! She had a recheck with our vet partner today where her splint was replaced. So far everything is looking okay!! The one wound inside the splint is healing but we did a culture to best move forward as it was just a little bit smelly. She will be going back every week to two weeks for bandage and splint replacement, eventually we will throw xrays into the mix to see how the bones are healing. This happy girl has been through so much but you would never know it!! She loves all people, is so excited to meet new dog friends, and is playfully curious with her fosters cats!! Sage is finally starting to feel better! ❤️‍🩹 Sage’s appetite has greatly improved, his attitude is lifted, he played with a toy for the first time, he’s shown his more vocal side by whining when he’s excited and when he gets pets, he’s gained a little bit of weight, and best of all… his blood levels are finally looking better! He’s still not in the clear with his blood levels and has a long road to recovery ahead but we are on the right track. This little boy is a fighter and a huge part of him being given the chance at a good fight is all thanks to our followers for donating! We raised about $3,000 out of the $6,500 vet care he had.
