Cassie is ready for adoption! She is a tri-pod (has 3 legs) and is what we like to call, a pocket-pitty, weighing in at about 35 pounds! She's only about a year old and still a total puppy. She is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, and ready for LOVE!

Cassie was hit by a car and someone called Orange County Animal Services to pick her up. Unfortunately, she ended having a double fracture in her front leg and they couldn't give her the medical care she needed, so she was placed on the euthanasia list on Thanksgiving day. We took her from OCAS and got her booked for an immediate surgery where it was determined that an amputation was the best option for her. She has adjusted so well to her 3 legs and absolutely nothing is stopping her from acting like a dog that still has all 4 legs!

We have been able to conclude that she came from a really bad place. She was covered in dirt when we got her, if you happen to swing your hand by her she'll cower down thinking you are going to hit her, and her lack of basic training tells us she likely lived outside and was physically abused. We know that she deserves so much more than what she had before.

Cassie is an absolute favorite of so many. We've taken her to events and everyone is always drawn to her. She is SO sweet and full of so much love to give. She is often described by rescue team members as a really special dog. She is absolutely the type of dog that will fill your life with so much love and joy. She has also been known by the nickname, Glinda, because she particularly enjoys listening to the Wicked Musical movie soundtrack ;)

She is GREAT with dogs and LOVES to play. She has met cats and has not reacted to them at all. She is mostly potty trained, crate trained, but she does still has some puppy-like behaviors so she'll need someone who's open to training her the basics. She is a smart girl so she will catch on quickly!

She does not have any medical concerns and tri-pod dogs live very long, healthy lives. Give this special girl a chance!

Meet Brooke! She is an approximately 3-4 month old mixed breed (possibly Dutch shepherd mix) pup that is such a sweetheart! She is currently 23lbs so she will be a big pup.

Brooke is great with other dogs both small and large and cats. She is a submissive pup that loves to play and then snuggle with her humans.

Brooke is still working on potty training but is doing amazing. She is crate trained. As Brooke is a puppy she is still working on her manners but is highly treat motivated.

Little Bit finally has her HAPPY TAIL

Some journeys hit us a little bit harder, and it makes their happy tails all the sweeter ❤️

Bitty came to us in August of 2024. Just a baby with a serious leg injury. We tried to save the leg, but ultimately, amputation was best. The amputation was a 5-hour surgery as she was bleeding a lot from the blood vessels trying to heal the damage. Then, she had to learn how to be a tripod. She did so good and could zoomie with the rest of the animals in her fosters home!

Throughout all of this, she just remained the sweetest girl and loved everyone and everything she met. Her bark is big, her ears give her a forever puppy look, and now she has a family to call her own!

Gomez (now known as Coco) starts his board and train tomorrow! While he has made great progress with his foster, his behaviors need a little more professional help and he starts his 6 week training program with DiversityK9!

We know this will be getting him on the right path to finding a forever home as they work with his past trauma and puppy tendencies.

FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED
🚨DEADLINE WEDNESDAY JANUARY 8TH🚨

Remember sweet Coco we found a few weeks ago running around the Pleasant Hill area in Kissimmee? We were happy to reunite her with her family so quickly, but now they have found themselves in a position we are hearing all too often these days and have asked for our help in finding a new home for Coco and her sister Mocha.

What the family says about these girls:

Mocha (brindle)- my wife had a team member who was almost homeless and asked for us to take care of her until she was able to get her back, after a couple months she cut contact we chose to keep her.

CoCo (tan and black)- such a sweetheart! Just wants kisses and hugs. Loves the squeaky toy we gave her to play with.

Both girls are spayed and up to date on shots. Good with other dogs and kids. Unsure of cats. Can be separated. Around 2 years old and on the larger side around 50-60 lbs, best guess of breed is hound mixes

🎉 First Freedom Ride Post of the Year 🎉

Meet Totoro! He has been with Orange Animal Services since October. He is only 3 years old and is sweet as can be! This poor baby was just deteriorating at the shelter. He lost a ton of weight, he started self-harm behaviors by chewing his tail to the point it bled, and he had a lot medically going on during his time there. He had parasites, an upper respiratory infection, an infection in his sutures after neuter, and then developed a hernia.

Totoro has already seen our vet and we have a plan to get him on the mend. In the meantime, he has been showing his funny, sweet, kind, and loving personality to his foster on a daily basis. His foster often describes him as a very good dog. We can’t wait to get him feeling better and see him in his forever home one day!

FOUND CAT

In tact brown tabby male estimated to be a young adult was found by one of our volunteers off Jacks Road in Davenport.
Scanned for a chip, none found. Checked up by our vet. Very healthy cat!

He’s incredibly friendly and loves to snuggle.
Posted on multiple pages and reported as found with Polk County.

Meet CJ!!

This one year old cutie is looking for her forever home! She was found alone in the road. She was starving, and she had a skin infection that caused her to lose some hair. She was so happy to be rescued, and it shows. CJ now has a beautiful coat with a fluffy tail. you would never know what she had been through.
She LOVES dogs. She is fostered with large dogs, and she loves to rub up against them. She is brave and not the type to hide. She wants to be a part of the fun and be with her family. She is good with other cats, although she does smack her foster siblings sometimes when she feels like they are stealing her attention. She is so loving and affectionate. She would do well in any home.
She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, has been dewormed, and is on flea prevention. She is FELV/FIV Negative. She is currently being fostered in KISSIMMEE.

Please SHARE or ADOPT a beautiful chocolate point siamese, Lily!

Lily is a year old female siamese. She was wandering the streets for months before she was finally rescued. She was scared and shy at first, but she has really come out of her shell. She needs a quiet home that is patient and will give her time to adjust to her new world. We think a home without kids or older kids is best. Lily does not have a mean bone in her body. She can be timid and shy when meeting new people. She is good with cats that are used to other cats and calm. She is ok with dogs that are older and calm (also used to cats). Lily is beautiful and was failed by humans. She is learning fast how great it is to be loved by people again.

She is currently up to date on vaccines, dewormed, on flea prevention, spayed, microchipped, and tested felv/fiv NEG. She is currently being fostered in KISSIMMEE.

💚 Adopt Elphie 💚

Hi, I’m Elphie! 🧙‍♀️ My previous family abandoned me in a dog park in late November. I was rescued by some very compassionate humans. They let me stay in their home with two cats, a dog, and their children, and gave me a really cool new name from the movie, Wicked! They took me on walks and let me run around the park. I give lots of love — cuddles, kisses, and funny snoring noises. I love belly rubs, playing with rubber balls (the more, the better). I go to the door when I need to go potty and quickly take care of business.

Elphie is spayed, and about two-years old. She will be UTD on vaccines and microchipped. She’s on heartworm and flea prevention medication and a visit to the vet gave her the green light. She’s great with other dogs, kids, and enjoys car rides. She would do best in a home with a yard and older children who can help play with her, walk her, and love her.

Like her namesake, Elphaba, because you know her, you will be changed for good!

❤️ FREEDOM RIDE FOR GOMEZ ❤️

Gomez was on the last chance list at Orange County Animal Services and was due for euthanasia. He is SO excited to be out of there and is finally winding down taking a nap on the couch with his foster. He definitely lost weight from the stress of OCAS but we’re ready to help him get on the mends.

While Gomez is a sweet and loving dog, he was placed on the list due to him being hard to place as he is reactive to other animals and needs to be an only pet. It’s not often we can save these babies due to needing the right foster and ability to find trainers. Thankfully, we got in contact with a foster who has experience with reactive dogs and lives alone with no other pets. It’s the perfect set up for him and will give him a strong chance to rehabilitate.

Gomez will need professional behavior modification training so we are accepting donations for him and are seeking out trainers who can help for an affordable rate for a non-profit rescue. 🚨FOSTER/ FOSTER TO ADOPT/ ADOPTER Needed for abandoned Husky

*update from the temp foster now that she's had him for a couple days*

He walks on a leash AMAZINGLY. Does fantastic in car rides. Does great at the groomer and vet. Apparently he may be treat motivated when he wants to be. I think he knows basic commands, but is selective on when he actually wants to do them. He’ll do ‘sit’ for a fish skin. Also does good in the crate all day and has zero accidents. He slept in my son's bed last night and just cuddled him all night ❤️

Meet Balto!!

This sweet boy needs a foster/ adopter with husky experience as he is a textbook example of the breed.

Balto has been failed by every family he's had. He was adopted by one person, rehomed to another, and then allowed to roam the streets until he came to us.

He's a big puppy where his previous families did no basic training with him. As a husky, he is smart and needs a family that can keep up! He loves to go on unsupervised adventures 🫣, he needs help with basic manners, no small children or small pets as his energy too much. A fenced-in yard is not required as he should be supervised outside for any length of time.

Balto gets attached to people very quickly, so we would prefer an adopter or a foster to adopt situation for stability for him.

As of right now, he is neutered and microchipped. He's going to a vet tomorrow to get up to date on shots and prevention. We estimate he is around 2 years old. Currently in Brevard County. His adoption fee is $250.

DAISY IS SAFE

She had been sighted a few times today. Traps were put out with food and she stayed in the area trying to each. One of our dedicated volunteers had been driving out over an hour to try and help catch her and today it was successful!

Daisy has some minor injuries that are being treated and she needs a good bath and groomed. But otherwise okay ❤️

PUPDATE! We are happy to share this happy update about the 8 dogs rescued on Monday All 8 dogs and puppies have settled into their foster homes. 5 out of 8 have been groomed thanks to Pooch Parlor and bark_park_road_grooming. They generously donated their time and services to help these severely matted pups. The last three are the mommas and needed a little time to decompress before getting groomed. Our two pregnant mommies gave birth to 10 healthy babies on the same day! Mommies and babies are doing great and their fosters have done amazing making sure they are all healthy and well taken care of. The daddy has been neutered, groomed and had the cherry in his eye repaired. He is settling into his foster home and will be available for adoption soon. Special thanks to our emergency fosters that took the pups to safety immediately when we put out a plea for help. Without them we would not have been able to save them. HAPPY TAILS Our boy Loki Carl FINALLY gets the happy ending he deserves after 6 long months of healing his leg and waiting for his new family. About a month ago, he was cleared by the vet to no longer need treatment! After months of PT and xrays, at 11 months old he finally got to be a real dog! A month before that appointment, he got an application that we knew would be a great fit. We were upfront about his ongoing care. The foster stayed in communication with the potential adopter the whole time. Once we got the green light from the vet he couldn't wait to bring his new dog home!! Loki Carl has a good yard to run in, a new doggy brother to play with, and a dad to spoil him endlessly. None of this would be possible without everyone who donated to his care, his amazing medical team, and his foster, who spent so much time and gave so much love while he waited for his new family ❤️ Congratulations Loki Carl, we are so excited for this next part of your journey!

Pupdate on the pup we pulled from OCAS last week! Sorry for the delay in updates, but this pup we are now calling Florence is doing so good! She had a recheck with our vet partner today where her splint was replaced. So far everything is looking okay!! The one wound inside the splint is healing but we did a culture to best move forward as it was just a little bit smelly. She will be going back every week to two weeks for bandage and splint replacement, eventually we will throw xrays into the mix to see how the bones are healing. This happy girl has been through so much but you would never know it!! She loves all people, is so excited to meet new dog friends, and is playfully curious with her fosters cats!! Sage is finally starting to feel better! ❤️‍🩹 Sage’s appetite has greatly improved, his attitude is lifted, he played with a toy for the first time, he’s shown his more vocal side by whining when he’s excited and when he gets pets, he’s gained a little bit of weight, and best of all… his blood levels are finally looking better! He’s still not in the clear with his blood levels and has a long road to recovery ahead but we are on the right track. This little boy is a fighter and a huge part of him being given the chance at a good fight is all thanks to our followers for donating! We raised about $3,000 out of the $6,500 vet care he had.
