The leaves on the trees continue to change. I love the colors of the orchard trees on the hillside. It looks like our view is changing too. Orchards across the street were taken out over the past week. Hopeful for replanting, but time will tell.

A cool, wet, and breezy morning here. If you look closely, the trees are just starting to turn color. Fall is in the air!🍂

A recap of fair this year! Sunrise to sunset, and so much more. Grand, blue, and herdsmanship ribbons, and trophy for superior senior doe. A great year and plans for next years 4-H projects are already underway and include breeding. If all goes as planned, baby goats will grace the homestead once again.

The girls put so much into these goats. So much time, money, sweat and tears to keep them happy and healthy and even more to get them ready for fair.

They wake up at 5am to let them out to play, refresh their bedding and clean them up. All day long they are at the barn cleaning, and ensuring food and water are plentiful and their goats are happy.

They spend their time educating people as they walk by and pulling the goats in and out of their stalls as people would like to pet them.

Showmanship, conformation, helping with round robin, livestock judging, all day barn duty, dancing until 11pm and up again at 5am to do it again.

Boots, jeans, and show shirts in 90°, pure joy, and exhaustion. The lessons they learn through this journey and hard work are building a firm foundation for life.

This last day is bittersweet. Will miss friends that were made and the feeling that fair week brings- camaraderie, faith, and peace.

Emily faced her fears and earned a first place ribbon for conformation.

Alia showed confidence and earned first place in fitting and showing, grand champion in conformation and a trophy for outstanding senior doe.

The club worked hard on the barn earning Herdsmanship award ribbons 2 days, and was a close second the other two. They earned overall Herdsmanship Awards for the year.

So proud of each of these girls. They have both worked hard and are already planning big things for next year.

Thank you to friends and family who came to visit and support them in person.

Girls were up at 4:45, got their stalls cleaned, their goats fed and taken out to play and they are all ready for a fun filled day. First showing is today at 1:00.

January knocked us a little flat this this year. Our soap inventory all but dried up this holiday season and we appreciate your patience while we increase our inventory, introduce new creations, and update our website. Until all of this is done, here is a little sneak peek of what is being added.

Goats seem happy despite how much they despise snow. They are under cover and playing this morning. The snow level is creeping up on the 6 foot fence though.

We have had growing pains here and there but always come out on top. We communicate with our hearts, our minds and souls and encourage laughter through out each topic. We play the other side of the fence in almost every scenario and challenge the normal.

We have 4 goats to go to pet homes. They are some of the sweetest, but we just had too many boys this year to keep them all. These guys will make great pets! Interested and new to goats? A productive day on the homestead. Banded the remaining boys, registered the remaining girls, updated records, and made some soap. Expect the website to be updated with new soaps tomorrow evening.

Although they didn't seem scared, ALL of the goats huddled into the smallest area and stayed on alert for the hour there were fireworks nearby. The was no jumping, running, or escaping happening.
