We are proud to announce that Ohmydog 🐾 Pawsitive Changes 🐾 officially launches this Monday.

This nonprofit was created in response to a growing and deeply concerning issue within the animal care and training industry: the abuse and neglect of animals by companies that operate without accountability. Too often, families feel powerless when they discover their pets have been harmed, mistreated, or subjected to unethical training practices. Our mission is to change that.

The purpose of Ohmydog 🐾 Pawsitive Changes 🐾 is to advocate for animals and for the people who love them. We aim to support individuals navigating situations involving animal abuse or severe negligence by providing guidance, resources, and a voice when they feel they have none. Animals cannot speak for themselves but we can, and we will.

Ohmydog has a long history of giving back to the animal community. Over the years, we have hosted charity events and fundraisers that raised money directly for animal shelters and rescue organizations. That commitment remains at the heart of everything we do.

With the launch of Ohmydog 🐾 PAWSitive Changes 🐾, funds raised will continue to support animal shelters and rescues, while also being used to assist families who may need access to legal resources when fighting cases of animal abuse or extreme negligence. When animals are harmed, families are often left emotionally devastated, financially overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn. This nonprofit exists to help bridge that gap while still uplifting the broader animal welfare community.

Through this initiative, we will be:
• Advocating against animal abuse and unethical practices
• Supporting families dealing with abusive or negligent companies
• Assisting with access to legal resources when animals have been harmed
• Continuing to raise funds for animal shelters and rescues
• Hosting fundraisers, charity events, and community initiatives
• Partnering with organizations and professionals committed to humane, ethical care

This nonprofit is dedicated to Nova.
Nova’s story is one that should never have happened but it did. And it serves as a powerful reminder of why silence is not an option. Nova represents every animal who was failed by the very people entrusted with their care. Ohmydog 🐾 Pawsitive Changes 🐾 exists so that Nova’s suffering was not in vain, and so that other animals may be protected, believed, and defended.

Ohmydog has never and will never tolerate animal abuse. This nonprofit is a natural extension of our core values: compassion, accountability, and unwavering advocacy for those who cannot protect themselves.

This is just the beginning. We look forward to building a community that stands firmly for animal welfare, honors Nova’s memory, supports families in need, and creates real, lasting pawsitive change 🐾

This petition is submitted in response to deeply concerning evidence of abuse associated with Dog Wise Academy. The conduct shown raises serious questions about the training practices used by the company and the welfare of the animals placed under its care. Any organization entrusted with the training and handling of dogs has a fundamental duty to ensure humane, ethical, and professional treatment at all times.

The actions attributed to Dog Wise Academy and its trainer represent a breach of that responsibility. Such behavior not only causes harm to the animals involved, but also undermines public trust in professional dog training as a whole. Abuse—whether physical, psychological, or emotional—has no place in any training environment and must be addressed with appropriate accountability.

This petition calls for the trainer Lauren Shelly and the company are to be held liable for their actions and for a thorough investigation into their practices. End unethical practices in the pet industry

I was recently sent a video that raises serious and deeply concerning questions regarding potential abuse and/or neglect associated with Dog Wise Academy. The content is disturbing and warrants thoughtful attention, not dismissal. Situations like this highlight why thorough research and due diligence are essential when entrusting any individual or organization with the care, training, or boarding of a beloved animal. An animal’s safety, wellbeing, and dignity must always come first.

It is also important to acknowledge a troubling pattern that has been reported by multiple individuals: when concerns are raised—either publicly or privately—there have been allegations that the company’s CEO has contacted critics in an aggressive and verbally confrontational manner. Attempts to intimidate or silence people who speak up do not align with the professionalism, accountability, or transparency that should be foundational in any animal care organization.

At this time, I am in direct contact with the dog’s owner and am actively assisting her as she navigates next steps to seek clarity, support, and accountability. No pet owner should have to face legitimate concerns about their animal’s treatment alone.

Raising awareness is not harassment. Engaging through sharing, commenting, and discussing firsthand accounts is about advocacy, education, and protection. Visibility ensures that concerns are not ignored and helps push for higher standards of care across the industry.

Animals rely entirely on humans to speak on their behalf. Asking hard questions, spreading awareness, and holding businesses accountable are essential steps in preventing harm and ensuring that trust is earned—not assumed.

We will not be silenced, intimidated, or coerced into removing content that brings attention to harm, neglect, or unethical treatment of animals. Attempts to pressure or discourage us from speaking out only reinforce why these conversations must continue.

Our mission has always been rooted in advocacy, education, and accountability. Animals cannot speak for themselves, which is precisely why we believe it is our responsibility—and our duty—to stand up for them. We will always use our platform to amplify the voices of those who are vulnerable, voiceless, and unable to defend themselves.

I saw a video shared today that has been circulating regarding DOGWISE Academy. What is shown is not dog training in any capacity—it is abuse. Training should never involve causing pain, fear, or physical harm. The fact that a dog reportedly returned home injured is absolutely unacceptable and deeply troubling. This type of treatment is vile and has no place in any environment that claims to prioritize animal welfare. Situations like this must be taken seriously and addressed with accountability to ensure animals are protected from further harm.

Working with dogs who struggle with anxiety is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Every fearful glance, hesitant step, and quiet tremble tells a story—and earning their trust is a privilege I never take lightly.

It starts with patience, consistency, and a calm presence. Some days, the progress is small: a gentle sniff, a relaxed sigh, a moment of eye contact. But those small moments add up, and before long, you see a dog begin to believe in safety again.

Today, Mercy reminded me exactly why this work means so much. Watching an anxious dog slowly warm up—choosing you, trusting you, allowing you into their world—is something truly special. There is nothing quite like the moment their tail softens, their body unwinds, and they let you know, in their own way, “I feel safe with you.”

These are the victories that matter.
These are the moments that keep me grateful for the work I do. so thankful for you guys choosing ohmydog 🥰
