This year's babies, two does, one buckling and so far no complications for moms or any others in our herd. That has been a relief.

Another very sad day for us, last night we had to say goodby to Rudy, just a young man of 2 years old. He had been fighting a recurring urinary blockage for about 6 months. After various dietary changes and a couple surgeries attempting to correct the problem we had to make that dreadful decision that we couldn't help him further. He was a grand guy, loved to be with his "people" and was about as playful a character as you could meet. Loved him dearly and will miss him.

some very sad and tough news, Rowdy the mother of our 3 new goat kids passed away last night. we do not know what caused this to happen. The labor and delivery seemed fine with no problems after about a week she stopped eating and grew progressively more depressed,after a 2 night stay at the Vet's office with IV she seemed to improve a little, back at home she just continued on a downward slope Janet is particularly saddened, as i am also. She was a real good girl

One of our Does has apparently contracted Meningeal Deerworm. fortunately she is not bred. 5 days ago she was down and barely able to stand due to stiffness. After heavy treatment with a cocktail of drugs she is up and around and being herself again with only a little stiffness. Hoping that we caught it early enough, the fact that she responded so well and quickly to treatment is a real good sign. keep your fingers crossed for her

ok, that "pregnant" goat lied to us she did start to develop an udder (she had never been bred before) but now she isn't pregnant, not sure what happened, kinda depressed, guess we wait till next year

so we definitely have a pregnant doe after 4 years of not breeding. very excited to have kids around again

So our senior doe was not pregnant, now it appears that one of our younger girls is building an utter keeping our fingers crossed

our senior doe, supposedly bred to our new young buck would be due the end of this month, still can't tell if she is pregnant or not. very frustrating

have had trouble breeding with the new guy, maybe too young, and the girls don't seem to be coming into heat

one of our ladies is coming in to heat, our 8 month old buck seemed not to know quite what to do, he did make the attempt but did not hit the mark. hopefully he will figure out what to do in the next 2 days. Rosy, (the intended) is a little large for him but he should still make it OK
