Visual attention in dressage judging. Really cool to see a technology I used on infants and children in my past life (grad school) on dressage judges. Interesting read!

Research using eye-tracking technology has revealed new insights into how dressage judges focus their attention when assessing horse-rider combinations.

15.3h 12yo imported Brandenburg gelding, lower level dressage

Cornet Obolensky x Calido I

This guy is ready to go out tomorrow and win at 1st level with a Jr or AA. If you are capable of helping him organize his body a little more and polishing up his moves, take him out for a stab at 2nd level too, no problem. He also comes with a lead change, and has miles of riding out in the open and on trails. He’s got all the basics installed for someone who wants to do lower level dressage. He has been ridden by a teen the last several years who wants to move up the levels of eventing, and jumping is just not his thing anymore (same dude, same). He is loving his life as a dressage king! 👑 Scores above 75% with blue ribbons at 1st level (schooling show) with a teen rider. Impressive!! 🥇

Honest and safe, but never boring. He’s sensitive to the aids, naturally athletic, brave, willing, and just plain pleasant and rideable. He will thrive in a dressage home with a teen or AA in a program, and is equally as fun for your trainer to hop on and jet around. Though he’s forgiving, he is not for a total beginner simply due to his athleticism and work ethic. Personality-wise he is one of the sweetest horses I’ve ever met, not a mean bone in his body. He also does tricks!! He will “fist bump” and “spin” on command.

Sound, easy keeper, minimal maintenance, and your non-horsey husband or parent can handle him on the ground. Films and vet records available to seriously interested parties. Hauls like a pro, he is the exact same horse off property, and does not require a lunge, although he is super easy to lunge too. He is overall a standout guy, and I wish there were more of him in the barn! Come meet him and take him home forever 🫶🏼

Located in Snohomish, WA. 25k.

How much weight can a horse carry?

In my experience, a horse can carry an infinite amount.

They can carry the weight of broken hearts, broken homes, and broken bodies. Countless tears sometimes comb their tangled manes. Moments when parents and friends cannot be there to help and hold a person, horses embrace and empower. They carry physical, mental, and emotional handicaps. They carry hopes and dreams; and they will carry the stress from your day when you can’t carry it anymore.

They carry graduations, they carry new careers, they carry moves away from everything familiar, they carry marriages, they carry divorces, they carry funerals, they carry babies before they are born, and sometimes they carry the mothers who cannot carry their own baby. They carry mistakes, they carry joy, they carry the good and they carry the bad. They carry drugs and addictions, but they also carry the celebrations.

They will carry you to success when all you have felt is failure. They will carry you, never knowing the weight of your burdens and triumphs.

If you let them, they will carry you through life, and life is hard, life is heavy. But a horse will make you feel weightless under it all.

⁉️Ever heard of a Mangalarga Marchador? Me either… (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangalarga_Marchador)

This is Nandor, a 5yo Mangalarga Marchador who just moved up here from SoCal this spring with his mom. He’s in training and will be his mom’s “old lady horse” she will ride when she’s 100 and still in the saddle 🤞🏼 Smooth gaits, small size, and great temperament- honestly a great idea for all of us. He is a ⭐️and so is his mom.

🥳 Big congratulations to the Powers family on their purchase of Kat! I don’t think we could have found a better match 👏🏼 excited for their future! ⭐️

Great to welcome another new horse to the barn. Kat (aka Kit-Kat) is assimilating well to the new environs and is the first of several horses coming in over the next weeks. Welcome Kat!

The barn is filling up but a couple more open stalls remain!

SOLD!!! Lincoln is a flashy 2014 15h Morgan QH with a big barrel and deep chest. His dark palomino coat shines like a new copper penny, and will get you noticed in the show ring.

He has extensive miles with a teen in a program, including showing in dressage, hunters, and jumpers. Has done lessons, camps, road rides with kids for a summer. Courses through 2’6” in his sleep, with scope for plenty more. Bold and tidy over fences, including walls, flower boxes, and other filler. He would make a fantastic eventer! He is sensitive to the aids, very light in the bridle, and responsive to small shifts in riders seat and weight. He is forward and likes to go! Experienced through 2nd level dressage. Currently schooling 2’-2’3” and 1st level (bits of 2nd) as he is getting back into shape after some time off from previous owners most recent pregnancy. This is a horse that truly gets better every day, and has not yet reached his full potential.

Sensitive, so not recommended for a beginner or kid. Would excel with an ambitious teen or AA in a consistent program. Thrives in consistent work, he is not a horse that you can pull out of the pasture after 6 months off and go- he will be hot. He can be nervous until he gets to know you, but never naughty. No buck/bolt/rear etc., not noise sensitive. Ridden with chainsaws going outside the arena (see video), branches coming down, and did not bat an eye. Kind toward humans and other horses, overall fantastic temperament. He is just the best boy!

UTD on vaccines, worming, shoes, teeth. Sound, low maintenance, and an easy keeper. Only one previous owner, who had him since 10 months old. Hauls like a champ, and is the exact same horse wherever he goes. Very easy horse to have in the barn. Located in Snohomish. Priced in the low 5s, please PM or text/call to talk more about him, (425) 691-8198. I would like his future owners to keep in touch and will be picky about where he goes!
