A jack of all trades! Spent the first part of his life as a working ranch horse, and also dabbled in roping, mounted archery, and jumping. Later spent time as an eventer (to Beginner Novice level) including qualifying for the American Eventing Championships with a teen. Recently has been dancing in the dressage ring, and schools 1st level with ease. He has plenty of scope to move up the levels and continue with his training in any direction. An uncomplicated ride, and his gaits are smooth and easy to sit. He would be a fantastic working equitation prospect!

Likes a rider who will get on and go. He loves confident teenagers and AAs, and is not suited for a beginner or timid partner because he is incredibly intelligent and playful. He loves variety, and is a goofy guy with tons of personality.

Looking for a fun, athletic, goofy project horse? Charlie is your guy! Off the track, he was brought up the levels of Eventing through Training level by a teenager, including Novice championships and upper level Pony Club ratings and preps. He’s also been game for lower levels (Starter, BN), and has a solid foundation on the flat, where he’s forward and light in the bridle. However, the last two years he’s gotten out of condition and has recently started to come back into “real” work. He’s been diagnosed with kissing spine and has responded positively to treatment and the early stages of a conditioning regime. Now he needs someone who can continue to build his fitness, and help him find free forward motion and confidence in his body again. Currently, he would do best with an experienced, tactful rider who is able to provide him with the needed support during this restart, and see what he wants to do on the other side. He does have some quirks, so the ideal home would have OTTB experience and work with him to bring out his best self again.

He does require regular maintenance. Vet records and X-rays available to interested buyers, along with additional video. He hauls like a champ and has been all over the west coast. He wears four shoes and stands for the farrier, cross ties, bathes, etc. He is fun to have in the barn and really wants help finding a job again!

Successful Ride and Review day with the Mercer Island Saddle Club crew. Thank you so much Kimberly Mitchell Dressage for coming out and helping us today! Everybody got a chance to ride a test and work with Kim to improve their scores. It was a really positive experience for this group of primarily eventers, many of whom had never ridden a dressage test before!
