👋 Meet Our Team: Hailey, Team Trainer 👋

We’re excited to introduce Hailey, our team trainer! Originally from Middletown, New York, Hailey made the move to West Chester a little over a year ago to attend West Chester University. Since then, she’s fallen in love with the area.

Growing up in a big family with four younger siblings and a variety of pets, Hailey’s love for animals was sparked early on. Her household included dogs, cats, chickens, ferrets, hamsters, lizards – you name it! This diverse experience with animals has shaped her passion for working with and understanding them.

Currently pursuing her goal of becoming an animal psychologist, Hailey is also a seasoned pet sitter and dog walker with years of hands-on experience. She truly enjoys building strong, lasting relationships with all the furry friends she meets.

🐾 Bonnie 🐾 is a 5 year old spayed female Havanese who weighs 13 pounds. At her foster home, she is doing well with other dogs and would do best in a home with at least one other dog to show her the way. She walks on a leash, is mostly house trained, enjoys exploring the fenced-in yard, and did great on the car ride. Her ideal home would be a quieter family to spoil her rotten, and she does enjoy hanging out in her crate as well. Bonnie has been nothing but sweet and loves to be loved.

🐾 Meet Andy! 🐾 Andy is a great all-around dog! He’s friendly, calm, gentle, and mellow. Andy loves to be with his people, so would prefer someone home more often than not. Andy likes dogs and children. This snuggler is potty trained and does require a band of gone for longer periods of time. Other than early stages of hearing loss, Andy is in great shape medically!

❄️🌬️ As the cold winds blow, don't forget about your furry friends! 🐾 Whether it's a quick walk or outdoor playtime, keep an eye on the weather and ensure your pets stay warm and cozy. 🏡🥶 Small pets, puppies, and senior animals are especially sensitive to the cold, so consider getting them a warm jacket or blanket!

And don't forget to make sure your dogs name tags are secure, latches on fences are secure, and of course, please watch your dog when they are outside today. It only takes seconds for them to see an opening to chase something or run away in this wind. 💨

🌬️🐾 How Cold is Too Cold for Your Dog? 🐶❄️

As the temperatures drop, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe and warm! But how cold is TOO cold for dogs to be outside? 🥶

Below 32°F (0°C): Small dogs, puppies, and seniors are at risk of frostbite and hypothermia.

20-32°F (-6 to 0°C): Larger dogs with thick coats may handle it but still limit outdoor time.

Below 20°F (-7°C): It's best to keep your dog indoors—no dog - should be outside for long in these temperatures!

If you must go outside, ensure your dog is properly dressed in a coat or sweater and limit exposure. If your dog shows signs of shivering, lethargy, or discomfort, head back inside immediately! 🏠💙

🐾 Butterball 🐾 is a 4 year old, CHONKY little love who has shockingly lost a few pounds while in our care! She loves her foster bull-brothers and has shown to be a great mix of spurts of play between snuggles. Her play could be compared to a sumo wrestler, or . Butterball is an easy going gal who loves to snuggle on the couch or enjoy a good bone. Butterball is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped & move in ready. She is seeking a home without small children (6+) in the house and no cats.

🐾 Rufus 🐾 is a 5 year old neutered male poodle who weighs 17 pounds. He was rescued from outside living when his owners could no longer care for their dogs. Rufus has never looked back, and he loves other dogs! During the day, he can be found sun bathing, lounging around, and he looks forward to treat time. He has tested great with dogs of all sizes, and he will make a wonderful family addition. When it comes to grooming, he will roll onto his back while you brush or trim his belly and paws. Rufus is super smart and knows how to sit, come, and is working on dance and lay down. He is a little shadow, and one lucky family is going to hit the jackpot with this boy.

✴️ How to Comfort Your Pet During Firework Season ✴️

🍾🎉 New Year's Eve celebrations can be stressful for many pets. Nearly 1 in 2 dogs fear fireworks, and that fear can persist for days. There's much you can do to both protect your pet and make the day less threatening.

1️⃣ Keep her indoors, especially as dusk nears. Turn on a TV or music to help muffle the noise from outside. Classical music, in particular, may help calm your dog’s nerves. Create a safe haven for your pet, with toys, water, and a few treats; put on calming music and use herbal remedies for extra stress-relief

2️⃣ Keep other holiday hazards away from your pet, including alcohol, insect repellents, and sunscreens intended for humans, BBQ grills, glow jewelry, and citronella candles

3️⃣ Give your pet some one - on - one time earlier in the day. A tired pet is typically a better-behaved pet — and one who’s calmer and more likely to be relaxed spending time indoors later on

4️⃣ If your dog has to go out, keep them on a leash at all times even if you have a fenced-in back yard or electric fence. Any sudden loud noises will make them run and go into flight mode.

Since New Year’s Eve happens every year, the sooner you find effective ways to help your dog cope, the more enjoyable the holiday will be for everyone.

🎄 Tinsel and bright holiday balls can be interesting to pets - especially cats. Keep an eye on your curious pets!

🪴 Holiday plants bring beauty to your home, but some can be dangerous to your pets. Poinsettias, Holly, Pine Needles, and Mistletoe are very toxic.

🕯Holiday lights and some scented candles can be appealing to pets. Make sure to unplug lights when you're not home, keep an eye on your electrical cords, and place candles in hard to reach spots!

🎀 Ribbons are great for extra holiday decorations. But don't forget it can be a huge choking hazard.

🍫 Keep harmful food and treats out of reach from pets. Please do not leave any food or treats in a pets reach, especially wrapped under the tree!
