THE TEACHING OF THE DONKEY
One day a farmer’s donkey fell into a well. The animal cried loudly for hours, while the farmer tried to find something to do to get him out.
Finally, the farmer decided that the donkey was old and the well was already dry and needed to be covered anyway; that it really wasn't worth pulling the donkey out of the well..
He invited all his neighbors to come help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to throw dirt into the well.
The donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly loud. Then, to everyone's surprise, he quieted down after a few shovelfuls of dirt.
The farmer finally looked down into the well and was amazed at what he saw... with each shovelful of dirt, the donkey was doing something incredible: It was shaking off the dirt and stepping on top of the dirt.
Very soon everyone saw surprised how the donkey reached the mouth of the well, went over the edge and trotted out...
Life is going to throw dirt at you, all kinds of dirt... the trick to getting out of the hole is to shake it off and use it to step up. Each of our problems is a step up. We can get out of the deepest holes if we don't give up...
Use the land they throw you to get ahead!!!
Remember the 5 rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hate.
2. Free your Mind of distractions.
3. Simplify your life.
4. Give more and expect less.
5. Love more and... shake the dirt, because in this life you have to be a solution, not the problem!

We had a great time at Tractor Supply in Shenandoah on Saturday!! We talked to a lot of nice folks and the donkeys got so much love! So just to give all some back ground on our family and what got us into wanting to be involved in rescue. 4 years ago my family all went to a local sale barn to get some more chickens. We walked into the livestock pens and saw these poor horses that had been surrendered. Our hearts just broke looking at these poor animals in such bad shape and needing help. We knew Scott and Lura Sheehan from Lusco Farms Rescue . I stepped away from the family and called them immediately. Lu said they had a paddock/pen open and after her seeing the pictures she was all in on helping. Now my thought at this time was to get the worst looking horse some help and just get him a family that would take care if him/her. This is where our lives took a huge turn for my family. We bid and won on this little broken soul of a pony. My daughter Adyson did the bidding and she was determined we was to go home with him. Please keep in mind we had never had a horse nor did we know what we we're doing...just knew this animal needed help. We figured we will get him a good home... Got him loaded up and to Lusco Farms. This poor soul had lost his spirit and was in bad shape. We had to keep him in medical barn for a few months taking care of infections and getting him to trust people. Well he did learn to trust people and we learned the true meaning of love for an incredible animal. Well we just could not be without this boy and he is our family today. This is what has led us to this calling to help these incredible animals all we can. When Scott and Lu decided to end the rescue the wife and I talked with our girls and the family decided we need to take the reigns and keep this great rescue alive. Here are some pics and videos of our start...named Theo, and just shows and proves what love,determination and a lot... a lot of patience will do for not only your soul and heart but for a animal that had been delt a unfair hand.Some pictures of success..
