ted to follow while taking short nature walks to the river, to come when called and to focus on the handler. This imprinting which begins at 3 weeks of age and fosters later learning. It basically teaches them to be active and eager learners. I have a degree in Behavioral Psychology and utilize the learning principles of operant and classical conditioning to create pups that love to learn and please. I am located in a rural setting and my dogs are allowed plenty of opportunities for romping and swimming. I am about 45 minutes from Little Rock. My favorite German Shepherd is whichever one I am with at the time. I love working the over the top working lines there is nothing like it but at the same time I deeply appreciate the more laid back West German show lines especially if I am camping or want a dog inside because they are so much easier to live with due to their calmer drives.. This brings me to my breeding goal which is to consistently produce black and red dogs with medium drive in terms of ball, aggression, and fight yet safe natured in regards to being around kids and strangers without concerns and still posses the ability, willingness and tenacity to deter and stop any threats to my family or self.

Working with the pups on down stays or as they say "I lie down and you feed me". Bella did great. Charlie and Dora need some more training in a smaller group. With every mistake, we must surely be learning.

If you like to see body language communication between pups and older dogs this video is for you. Watch as a one year old shepherd (Franklin)interacts with some 12 week old pups (Bella, Charlie & Dorsa). Its hard to discern whom is teaching whom but they definitely enjoy each others company.

In this video an older (1yrs) dog interacts with the pups. Sometimes dog training is selecting the right ingredients and letting them mix. Supervised of course because a large dog can hurt a puppy in so many ways. This young males demeanor towards puppies is something I've been cultivating because what they can provide to a young puppy's development is important.

Pups chewing on rib bones. Chewing on bones strengthens their jaw mucles, provides nourishment and is a form of recreation for them. Later on the emotional state elicited by bone chewing can be useful in counterconditioning stressful and anxiety producing stimuli.

Taking video of these pups is becoming more of a challenge. Often one is biting me or pulling on the camera strap as the others run out of view. Today we worked on building food and toy drive, did a little exploring but mostly we just played as they are only four weeks old.

German Shepherd PUP Being Born

I have never documented/posted a pup being born but because I am not sure how much longer I will be doing this I chose now as the time. Pups were born yesterday evening on Easter. There are 3 males and 1 female. Please make all inquires preferably by phone or at least private message.
