With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited
-Keep your pet hydrated
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately.

Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

With tomorrow being Hairball Awareness Day, we wanted to remind our cat parents about the importance of preventing hairballs.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.
If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.

Come adopt Sylvester!!

Sylvester is a 1 year old neutered male, UTD on vaccines and FELV/FIV negative. He’s an angel who only lives to love on you. Like for real. I think everyone who works here wants this cat. He tolerates being held, almost enjoys it. He is obviously very food motivated, and he uses his litter box well. He’s kind of a tiny guy at just 10 pounds, so he would be the perfect lap cat. So far he hasn’t gotten a lot of interest, as black cats tend to be overlooked. But I promise you he is a very lucky boy! He was picked up by one of our technicians from a farm all the way in West Virginia, and he’s absolutely loving life inside. Please give us a call or email us at [email protected] if you would like to meet him! We all want to see him go to a great home soon.

What were we celebrating? On Monday 06/28/2021 we will be opening to the public. This will be the first time clients have ever been allowed inside! Masks are required for everyone regardless of vaccination status. We can’t wait to see you all!
