Hope - one of our two FIP warriors 🤺🐾🐈⬛❤️
Tomorrow she will have her final bloodwork signaling the completion of her 12 week observation period, which followed her 12 weeks of FIP treatment. She has been doing great - and as you can see in the video, has tons of energy and is quite the little spitfire 😻🔥
Assuming her bloodwork comes back normal 🙏🙏 she will be officially cured and an FIP survivor ❤️❤️
The cost of tomorrow’s bloodwork is $165 and we would be thankful for donations to cover this amazing recovery ❤️🩹 ❤️. A copy of the invoice for her last bloodwork is in the comments to show the cost.
Donations can be made through FB, but in order for us to receive them quickly to pay this cost, they can also be made through PayPal or Venmo. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Sissy and Socks 😻.
Sissy and Socks ❤️😻
Socks is a BIG boy, but he is still a momma’s boy 😻🐾 Sis is such a good momma - she’s 1/3 of his size! He is one of those humble, quiet big guys. He is an introvert and likes to stay next to his mom, but he is trying to be bold enough to spend time with the others. Sissy doesn’t hesitate…she’s right with the crowd though ❤️
Family is forever 🧑🧒😽🐈💞
Little Bear is now back to a healthy kitty 😻❤️ and is ready to meet some new friends.
Purrfecta and Leilani were the first to greet him and were so sweet with him. The kitties he will be hanging out with while he waits for his forever home are Little Momma and Unique, Ace and Hope, and Purrfecta and her kiddos - Koa and Leilani. That group are like a bunch of kitty hippies - full of love ❤️ and peace ✌️😻 and Little Bear is fitting right in 😇 He is such a sweet, gentle guy…a little timid still but he’s getting more confident every day!
Little Bear 🐻 🐾 - from June 5 - homeless, very sick, trapped and rescued - and now - just 2 months later…healthy, recovered, socialized and having introductions to new friends and a whole new life. This is rescue. This is why we do what we do 😻🐾😻 - they all deserve a good life.
Flashback to Kermit’s 15th birthday party with his friends 2023
Last August (2023) Kermit celebrated his 15th birthday with his friends (feline and human). As you all know, when Kermit came into rescue we found out through his initial bloodwork that he had cancer - Tcell lymphoma/leukemia. He started chemo and has been in remission for many months ❤️. Kermit is starting to “show his age” and has had some hard days recently. While the cancer is still in remission, aging doesn’t go into remission 🙁. We have made the decision to cease chemo treatment at this time. Kermit also has a heart murmur and although his proBNP in March 2023 was within normal limits, it was at the top of the “normal”. Kermit’s cancer treatment includes prednisolone (very common part of cancer treatment protocol), but steroids are hard on the heart. As such, he is also being weaned off the steroid.
Kermit is so deeply loved and adored - his family dotes on him and gives him everything he wants or needs. His buddy Spot grooms him constantly - Kermit comes to him and taps him with his paw and then lays down- Spot them grooms Kermit and makes him look like a million bucks…oh, be still my heart ❤️😻🐾
We don’t know what the next days and months will hold for Kermit, but his quality of life is what matters. He will bask in the love of the family and friends where he has found his safe place and knows he is home and enjoy being Kermit on his terms 🐾😇🐾.
Prayers that his health will be sustained and that he will live out his days healthy, peaceful, loved, strong and sassy, and enjoy every minute 😻🐾🥰
Little Micah had his cardiac evaluation at CVCA Vienna today. The staff was amazing, Micah got all kinds of love and attention ❤️❤️ His blood pressure is good. His echocardiogram was better than we expected 😻😻😻. The official diagnosis is:
👨⚕️Equivocal to mild left ventricular hypertrophy (thickened heart muscle)
👨⚕️Suspect early/mild hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, rule out pseudohypertrophy due to dehydration
👨⚕️Normal left atrium
👨⚕️Normal heart muscle function
👨⚕️Suspect dynamic right ventricular outflow turbulence causing heart murmur
Early/mild HCM is suspected. Micah’s risk for symptoms appears low at this time and no medication is required. Since we don’t know his medical background (other than vaccinations), he will be rechecked in 6-9 months, absent any evident symptoms, and the thickness of the heart muscle will be measured again to determine the rate of progression.
This was caught at an early stage because of a detected heart murmur, a strange cough (which they determined today is not heart related), and a positive snap proBNP (which is a test indicating heart disease at some level). We had opted for a snap proBNP because it is much less costly and is quick response, however the only result is “negative” or “positive”. A regular proBNP has a number value and, depending on what that number is, helps indicate what degree of heart disease may be lurking.
The cardiologist noted that cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can be unpredictable. Thus, continued close monitoring with periodic echocardiograms is recommended to monitor for progression of the disease and determine whether therapy may be warranted in the future. Yearly T4 and blood pressure measurements are also recommended (and should be done for all cats).
Today was a good day - Micah does not have significant heart issues at this time ❤️🐾❤️. Based on today’s findings we have a baseline for mild
I was chosen, I was wanted, I was cherished, I grew in their hearts, I was the missing piece, I was loved, I was adopted. 🎉🐾❤️😻🥳
Yesterday was a big day for Cider - he moved into his forever home ❤️❤️❤️😻😻😻
His new journey starts now with a wonderful family! He got tummy rubs and lots of love at his meet and greet and it was clear that it was love at first sight and Cider was comfortable and happy. The next day they decided to make it official and they chose Cider to be their newest family member - and Sunday he moved in to his new palace where he will have an amazing forever after 🏡🏝️😽
From orphaned to adopted.
A life on the streets to a blessed life.
A kitten to a teen (yes, they adopted a teenager 😉).
Life is good 😎🐾😻

Ace and Hope
June 3rd is Hope’s final day of FIP treatment and she is doing fabulous 😻😻😻
Her bloodwork has returned to normal and her last weight check was 6.6 pounds ( she is a tiny girl naturally).
Ace is also doing amazing and is almost half way through his treatment. His bloodwork a couple weeks ago showed great improvement and he is now up to 9 pounds!!
We are working with FIP Warriors for both of these kitties and their guidance has been lifesaving 🫶🐾🥰
There has been a lot of news about FIP meds becoming available through your vet and Stokes and FIP Warriors shared this information recently:
“There is some potentially exciting progress on the horizon for LEGAL treatment of FIP in the United States!
There’s been a LOT of recent online chatter about legal FIP treatment coming to the US soon and we want to share what we were able to confirm AS FACT at this time.
As of June 1, 2024, veterinarians will be able to begin prescribing and placing orders for legal medication to treat FIP in the United States.
“Information at the moment is informal and nothing official will be going out just yet. As cat owners are not yet able to access it for another month, we are waiting to nearer the time. We will also be coinciding this with ACVIM in Minneapolis.” said their UK-based sales director. “It will only be GS 50mg tablets.” she also said. Bova is partnering with Stokes compounding pharmacy here in the US to produce the GS pills.
At this time there is NO information available with regard to how much this medication will cost the end user - Bova will be selling directly to vets who will in turn set the pricing to pet parents.
We sincerely hope that this is in fact a true game-changer for FIP cats in the United States and that access to and pricing of this legal treatment will help ALL FIP kitties get safe and affordable treatment! We will continue to share ALL relevant information as it becomes available.”
Mister Thomas
We have more kittens to teens to celebrate, but I couldn’t delay sharing this sweet video showing the transformation of Tom - Mister Thomas - as his loving foster momma calls him ❤️🐈❤️ Before rescue pics are in the comments.
This ginger boy had the worst teeth and dental disease ever. His life before was spent as a homeless stray who wasn’t able to eat any dry food but he had one caring lady who gave him soaked dry food when she fed the other stray kitties in the community, but then she moved away ☹️ but thankfully she made sure this boy was rescued first.
He was not social before he was rescued but with patience, love, consistency and acceptance just look at him now 😇🐾❤️❤️. What an amazing boy has emerged and he is just a sweet guy and obviously trusts the hand that cares for him.
Rescue isn’t just a word, it’s a promise 🥰 and they are ALL worth it 🫠🐾☀️❤️
Remember little Holly? A tiny kitten found in a colony in the dead of winter all alone.
Our resident cat, Milo, quickly assumed the role of a single dad caring for her and they are inseparable ❤️😻
Holly has grown in age, but stayed very tiny - in fact, her favorite place to nap is in the dresser drawers which she is still tiny enough to crawl under the dresser and up into 😇 she’s about 5 pounds soaking wet and looks like that forever kitten 🐱 🤩
On the opposite end of the size scale stands Papa Milo. He is a big, big boy - looks like a Norwegian Forest Cat and is closer to the 17 pound range. He is gentle and loves Holly and is our dogs best friend too 😍
So Holly is tiny but feisty and has every bit of those teenage testing vibes going on…poor Milo…his work is cut out for him😉
Camie Jo - breast cancer warrior
Camie Jo
They asked - would you be interested in pulling her? She was found as a stray in December. The vet thinks she’s over 15 years old. She has mammary tumors and is considered a 3 month hospice case. They weren’t able to do extensive testing, so maybe longer but they just weren’t sure whether she had much time.
I asked - is she available for adoption? No ☹️. Yes I will take her! ❤️
I picked her up February 6, 2024. Since then, just 5 weeks later, Camie had a radical mastectomy to remove the tumors and is now going into her third week of anti-cancer treatment (oral chemo) and is doing amazing!!
We are just shy of the original 3 month hospice date - look at this girl go ❤️🐾❤️
This 😻🙏😻
This is why we do this. This past six months have been especially hard - emotionally, physically and financially - but we have so much to be thankful for.
Today it’s this - watching this breast cancer survivor and warrior enjoying life and playing like a kitten - this is the blessings we have every day - thank you God 🙏❤️
A big thank you to our good friends at Senior Cat Action Network for covering Camie’s last visit to the oncologist to get started on her treatments 🥰❤️😻🐾

5 days into FIP treatment for Ace and he is starting to improve 😻♠️☀️ His eye is gradually starting to go back to its original color and the cloudiness is decreasing. Ace has both wet (abdominal) and ocular FIP and he is walking a little wonky so possibly a little neuro component has shown up. Hope has wet (abdominal) and is almost 6 weeks into treatment. Both Ace and Hope were diagnosed on a Tuesday and exactly 5 weeks apart - Hope on 3/12/24 and Ace on 4/16/24.
FIP is not contagious. As evidenced with Ace and Hope, there seems to be a genetic predisposition in at least some cases, as siblings of kittens/cats that have FIP have a higher risk of developing FIP.
Ace is on a higher dose of medication (the same oral medication that Hope is being treated with and responding very well). Prednisolone is also used for the initial several weeks.
Hope is over a month further into treatment than Ace and she is definitely watching over her brother as he fights to recover also 🥰❤️😇🐾
Here’s a little view of Hope and Ace (Hope is in front) on their united journey to healing from FIP 😻❤️😻

UPDATE 10:25a - Ace is also confirmed wet and ocular FIP 😭😭. I will start treatment immediately. This is terribly expensive with two FIP cases and two on chemo. Please donate to help save them.
Urgent prayers are needed for Ace who is now at the vet 😭😭
He is steadily losing weight, his eye is cloudy and showing possible symptoms of FIP also 😭☹️
3 weeks into FIP treatment and Hope is recovering wonderfully ❤️❤️❤️ Ace is keeping a close watch on her 😻🥰 but she is eating great, taking her meds easily, grooming, purring and loving all the attention! She is slowly but steadily gaining weight back too 🙌🫶
9 weeks to go!!
