✨IHVC Zen Den Fact of the Week✨
I am ready for my acupuncture treatment!
Acupuncture can benefit your furry friends in so many different ways such as pain management, or musculoskeletal problems (ex. hip dysplasia or arthritis). Acupuncture has been used in China for thousands of years to produce a healing response in the body. Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into certain points of the body where nerve bundles and blood vessels intersect. The needles enhance blood circulation and stimulate the release of hormones with the goal of encouraging the body to correct imbalances!
✨IHVC Zen Den Fun Fact of the Week✨
Spoondawg, spoons are better than your hands !
Massage helps increase blood flow and lymphatic drainage to a specific area, control pain, decrease scar tissue formation, and decrease muscle spasms. There are multiple forms of massage. We typically utilize Effleurage (very light, often using a spoon), Petrissage (medium intensity), Frictional (moderate intensity, often perpendicular to the affected area), and Trigger Point Pressure Release (TPPR, very intense application of continous pressure to a specific muscle knot or trigger point in a specific muscle until the tension relaxes).
Happy Friday!! Today we’ve got the acupuncture wiggle 😁 We hope everybody has a great and safe weekend

✨IHVC Zen Den Fact of the Week✨
When a joint is brought from a normal range of motion (ROM) into the passive ROM (PROM or PRM). Movement applied singularly or repetitively within or at the physiologic range of joint motion, without imparting a thrust of impulse with the goal of restoring joint mobility (normal ROM to PROM)

✨IHVC Fact of the Week✨
Cold laser therapy (a form of photobiomodulation) uses light energy to target specific tissues helping decrease inflammation, decrease pain, and accelerate healing. We use cold laser as a noninvasive treatment to help with a variety of problems especially muscle pain, joint problems, arthritis, soft tissue injuries, post-operative, and wound healing.

✨IHVC Fact of the Week✨
A galloping pug?
The gallop is the fastest of all of the gait patterns. It is a 4 beat gait, meaning each paw touches the ground individually. There are 2 moments of suspension where no paws touch the ground. Dogs typically use what is called a rotary gallop. Example: no paws (suspension), left hind, right hind, no paws (suspension), right front, and then left front.
Dogs experience tremendous amounts of spinal flexion and extension when galloping. Does your dog run? If so veterinary spinal manipulation can help keep your canine companion, athlete, or working dog in top form and prevent injury.
Zula’s one week recheck ❤️❤️ she’s amazing!!
✨Meet Cooper✨
