Celebrate senior pets with us! From Friday, July 26th, to Sunday, July 28th, adoption fees are WAIVED for all dogs and cats aged six years and up at both our shelter locations:

📍Michael R. Frey Campus: 4500 West Ox Rd., Fairfax, VA 22030
📍Lorton Campus: 8875 Lorton Rd., Lorton, VA 22079

Thanks to our nonprofit fundraising partner, the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, families who adopt a senior pet during the event will receive a $500 credit to use at Pender Veterinary Centre for bloodwork or other veterinary services.

Mack is back home resting following an adventure that almost sounds too unreal to be true!

After he escaped his backyard and somehow ended up in the sewer system, he traveled two miles before peeking out of a curb inlet near a police station. An officer noticed his bright blue eyes and, with some help, lifted a manhole cover to rescue him.

His family was frantically searching for him and was relieved to learn that he was safe at our shelter. They were also thrilled when we offered to microchip him at no cost to help him find his way back home faster in the future (though Mack assured us he will be on his best behavior).

If your pet needs a microchip and you‘re a Fairfax County resident, join us at our July Vaccine and Microchip Clinics where we are offering FREE microchips in honor of National Lost Pet Prevention Month! Clinics are scheduled for Friday, July 12th (tomorrow), at the Lorton Campus and Monday, July 22nd, at the Michael R. Frey Campus in Fairfax. Looking for something cool to do Friday? Come by the Prince William County Animal Services Bureau for their Family Fun Summer Party from 2-8 pm. There will be games, kids activities, movies, and special guests including:

🐾 Salty Paws doggie ice cream truck

🐾 Cafeto Espresso truck

🐾 K2C Wildlife

🐾 demonstration by K-9 Dory and Master Police Officer Horn at 3pm.

🐾 PWAA will be sponsoring cat and dog adoption fees that day as well!

$10 per vaccine (cash).
Rabies clinic is a collaboration with the PWSPCA, proceeds will support the care of animals at the Animal Services Center.
