The last of the Byrdie's Buddies donation boxes were delivered last night! Our Pet Supply Donation Drive in partnership with the Prince William County Bar Association runs now through July 19th. If you can, pop into one of these locations and drop off any much needed and greatly appreciated donations, list is on each box and attached below in photos Contact me directly if you need a receipt for tax purposes.

This also applies to animals not tethered but left outside. If you see an animal in danger, please call the local police. Numbers are listed below. It’s the LAW, let’s enforce it, Buddies.

📣Effective July 1, 2020, in VIRGINIA
it will be ILLEGAL to keep a dog tethered outside...

• IF it is hotter than 84˚ or colder than 33˚
• During a heat advisory
• During a hurricane or tropical storm
• During a severe weather warning

In addition, this law will increase tethers to 15 FEET and dogs must ALWAYS have a clean living area, food, water, shelter, space to move around and veterinary care.

This annual program is vital to the kids and the shelter pets for a variety of reasons. Sign up your kids, a class, summer camp group, etc. thanks, Buddies!

Come over and join the fun! This years program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 17th through July 3rd. The adoptable pets look forward to seeing you!

It’s going to be very warm this week, let’s get in the habit of filling birdbaths, rock baths for the bees, maybe a bowl outside your storefront, extra bowls for restaurant patio guests with pets. Just takes a few minutes and a little water can save a life. Thank you, Buddies!! 💚💛

On Memorial Day, we remember those soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and for us, the people of the United States. We honor and thank every fallen soldier for their courage, dedication and bravery. We must remember all our soldiers, especially soldiers that can’t speak for themselves. A brave soldier who too, is remembered this Memorial Day: the war dog.

If a dog of war is lost in combat, like their human counterpart, he or she is honored by the entire unit. Bowls are symbolically placed upside down and a poem called ‘Guardians of the Night’ is read in their honor. This Memorial Day, let’s remember these great dogs and their handlers who lost their lives, so that our dogs and their handlers (that would be us) may roam free in this great country. 🇺🇸

This Friday is World Turtle 🐢 Day! The City of Manassas will be releasing turtles off of Lucasville Road and Spruce Wood, into the pond at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.

Every year on May 20, we honor National Rescue Dog Day to bring awareness to the amazing dogs living in shelters that eagerly anticipate the day they meet their new owners and leave for their forever homes. Thank you to all who foster, adopt and help save lives. 💛
