Manchester, TN Welcome to Middle TN Leopard Catahoulas: Breeding is my passion, not my Income. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle TN State University with a Major in Animal Science and Pre-Vet and a Minor in Environmental Science. I also obtained my Masters Degree in 2001 from MTSU and was a Member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor S

ociety. After graduating college, I also worked for Lytle Creek Farms in Murfreesboro when their Walking Horse Operation was still viable, under the ownership of Darwin Oordt. I have owned and bred Registered Black Angus Cattle for several years and my dogs have been worked on cattle. I have also owned and shown TN Walking and Spotted Walking Horses. My husband owned and ran a Feed and Farm Supply Store for 20+ years. He is also a BWFA Certified Farrier. We have owned and loved Catahoulas for 16 + yrs and have been breeding since 2009. We are a NALC Certified Breeder. Remember, genetics loads the pistol. Our lines include Travel-N-Blue, Tuska Homma, Blue Sky, Coho, Roseland, County Line & Topisaw to name a few. Our foundation female’s lines go back to Philwoods Katy. My dogs have produced offspring that excel in tracking, baying, herding and all other disciplines of a true working Catahoula with lots of drive and stamina. They manifest the solid pedigrees full of great all around top Catahoulas. We only plan for an occasional litter as puppies are very special and a lifelong commitment for us. Litters are only planned when the time is appropriate for our Catahoulas and for us as we are a team in the care of these puppies. We also consider the wonderful families that are on our waiting list in this decision. Please contact us about adoption if you are a committed family. Our goal is to provide families with lifelong companions. PLEASE RESEARCH THE BREED before contacting us so you will understand a Catahoula’s needs. Breeding Catahoulas is my PASSION, not my source of income. It has taken years to develop my program, and I will continue to strive to better the breed by only pairing proven, even temperament dogs while maintain the breed standard. My lines do not have rear dewclaws, fuzzy coats or carry the bobtail gene. Many people question if they can pick out, see, or play with their puppies before they are ready to go at 8-weeks-old. The answer to the question is NO. There are several reasons why we do not let anyone around the new puppies between birth and 8 weeks – all to protect our dogs and your puppy. Below you will find not only details as to why the answer is no but also information as to what you can do in the meantime to prepare for your puppy. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We take great care and much time caring for all of our dogs and their puppies. It is time and energy consuming. This is what we do best, so please let us do it. We understand your excitement, and we are happy that you are enthusiastic about getting your pup. But until you take your puppy home, we are responsible, and the puppy’s health and safety is our priority. I guarantee you that in 8 weeks after the birth it will be well worth your wait.

******AS THE BREEDER WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE FIRST CHOICE OF A PUP IF DESIRED FROM ANY LITTER PRODUCED******
We will hold a puppy for a $400 deposit. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. Your deposit secures your place in line for puppy picking that begins at around 2 weeks of age. We will contact you at this point to choose your puppy from the litter based on photos online and videos that we will send you. The deposit will be deducted from your total amount due at pick up. All puppies MUST be paid in full at 8 weeks of age when they will be ready to go home with you. Failure to make final payment or to pick up your puppy will result in loss of deposit and your puppy will be offered to the next name on the list. If you cannot pick up your pup, we now offer personal transport depending on location. I also have a ground transport company and Flight Nanny I work closely with and can give you their contact information. Full payment for pup is due before pup is shipped/transported. Deposits can roll to the next breeding HOWEVER if a pup is not chosen within a calendar year from date received, deposits will automatically FORFEIT.

**We can accept deposits via Zelle or Cash APP pr PayPal (+3% fee). **

Payment is due in full on or before the date of pick up. In addition, when shipping a pup, shipping costs and puppy payment is due in full at least 14 days before the puppy will be shipped to the buyer.
******If you are picking up your puppy in person we accept payments in cash only.******

Puppies are available for pick up in Manchester TN at around 8 weeks of age. Please plan in advance to be available to pick up your puppy a around 8 Weeks of age. If you request or require your puppy to be held beyond 8 weeks of age, the puppy balance must be paid in full prior to pick up and there will be a care charge of $120.00 per additional week due at pick up. I will no longer be able to hold a puppy past 9 weeks of age which at that time they will be due for another round of shots which will be an additional fee. We are available to meet in Manchester any day except SATURDAYS.

Special Note: Our dogs are family raised so by definition they are our pets. Pups come with first round of puppy vaccinations from our licensed veterinarian and dewormed every two weeks from birth. Puppy price is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Pups will be sold as “pet quality only” no breeding rights Unless otherwise discussed. We encourage all of our puppy owners to pursue conformation, performance, and working trial achievements as well as health testing. We have DM test result on all of our dogs/breeding stock. BEWARE of unethical breeders, and oh they are out there! Please research this breed before considering adopting a Catahoula. When dealing with breeders beware if they refuse to show the pup's parents, or if they fail to produce a certificate of vaccination and de-worming from a licensed veterinarian, breeders are not veterinarians so beware of breeders that administer their own shots. Please also beware of breeders that do not Health Test or CAER and BAER test their pups, especially breeders that produce a lot of white pups consistently, you can scroll through their past pups to see how many they consistently produce. Ask for names of other buyers who have purchased their pups. Look at the photos on their FB Page or website to see what kind of environment the parents and pups are raised in. If you see filthy living conditions, BEWARE they are an unethical, backyard breeder and if you purchase a pup from them you are supporting that breeding program. You will also obtain an unhealthy pup. Our pups come with full breeder support, therefore if you have purchased a pup from me this service extends to you HOWEVER if you “acquire/purchase” one of my pups from someone else, I cannot offer breeder support as I cannot attest to what the dog or family did with the dog during their “ownership” of that dog. Also this means I was not contacted as the breeder of the dog and wasn’t aware or given the opportunity to take the dog back to help re-home it. As a REPUTABLE/ETHICAL Catahoula breeder, there is and has always been the “unspoken” rule to offer the breeder the first choice to take a pup back that was produced by their kennel. I am very picky of who I sell my pups to and unfortunately some of my pups have fell into other breeder's hands without my consent. That being said I DO NOT support that breeders breeding program just because they have one of my dogs and they don’t hesitate to produce pups off of the dog. As stated above, our puppies come with full breeder support. Contact us at 931-409-9458 with any additional questions. Serious inquiries only. The Catahoula Leopard Dog originates from Louisiana and is also known as the “Catahoula Cur.” It was traditionally used to round up feral pigs and escaped livestock and is believed to have originated from the Nordic Wolfhound. The Catahoula Leopard Dog was originally bred by Native Americans. The breed is known for hunting a variety of animals including raccoons, squirrel, deer, and mountain lions. Catahoula Leopard Dogs are loving with family members but are independent, protective, and territorial, sometimes appearing aloof to strangers. (From the NALC Information Sheet)
The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog evolved in the swamps of central Louisiana, around the Catahoula Lakes. Legend says their ancestors were the results of the Indian dogs, or red wolf found in the area at that time, mating with the surviving "war dogs" or mastiff used by the Spaniards in battle and then left behind, either wounded or captured by the Indians. The first settlers to the Catahoula Lakes area found this strange breed of dog with mottled spots and blue eyes, and called them Catahoula, meaning "beautiful clear water". The dogs were used for hunting deer, bobcat, and wild hogs, and the settlers appreciated their technique in trailing or winding, baying, herding and soon had the dogs working their cattle.

I have consistently been driven to achieve success. Throughout my academic pursuits, including college and graduate studies, I have simultaneously held two to three jobs.
While I have received support, I started my own engine every morning.
I didn’t have a mentor so trial and error have served as my guiding principles.
Being surrounded by successful individuals is a powerful motivator, encouraging me to be more intelligent, make greater sacrifices, and work harder.
I am currently in year 1️⃣ 6️⃣ of my journey to success.
To those who doubt me, I invite you to continue sharing your skepticism, as it serves as a source of inspiration.

My philosophy remains: be smarter, work harder and sacrifice more.

It’s been a busy day already. This baby girl just left for the beautiful state of Utah. This is the second Catahoula this family has adopted from me. They also have one of my grandpups. She will be the official “ Ranch Hound” at Sorrel River Ranch!!!

And kudos to my Flight Nanny, she is the best I am so grateful I was connected with her years ago.
