I tried out english on Hope for the first time yesterday. She was a total champ. I love how game she was for trying out jumping. Her form over the 2’ fence isn’t anything to brag about, but that’s because she was treating it as though it was an elevated canter pole 🤣

Hope is such an athletic and willing mare! We down to just 22 days before we will be on the road to Texas.

The end of a journey means the start of another 💛

My journey with Jimin was one of my all time favorites with a competition mustang. He is one of the sweetest horses with a heart of gold. When I picked him out back in April he was not my top pick due to his smaller size. He may be small, but he sure is mighty! I’m excited for the future of this amazing boy.

Since I finished Kookie’s journey video this week, I felt I needed to get Jimin’s done as well. I hope you enjoy!

I finally put together a video of Kookie’s journey from wild to the Mustang Classic. Looking back at some of the first training sessions we had together, he really came such a long way.

Following the competition, Kookie went up north to IL where he has found an incredible home. A little update from his new owners:

Took Kookie out on trail today ba****ck and he was fantastic. I’m so obsessed with him. He fit right in with all my girls. You were right when you said nothing phases him. My one mare keeps trying to rial him up and he’s not giving her the time of day and I think he’s really calmed My halflinger mare down.

It makes my heart happy to hear how much they love him and how well he is doing 🥰

Hope’s right around 20 rides now and she is starting to show some real potential. We have been working on body control, cruising around at all of her gaits, and her stops. Her stops are probably her favorite thing so far 👌🏻

She was not a fan of the neighbor throwing a frisbee across the street. She was pretty sure that was going to kill us. But, other than that, I haven’t found anything that she’s been super fearful of. And we did work down from the scary man in the field.

Hope is going to make someone a really nice horse. Don’t forget she’ll be available in January!

Brie is ready and looking for her forever home💛

I purchased Brie back in July after the Franklin makeover. For those who don’t know, Brie was my 2020 Ft Worth makeover horse. She was one of the scaredest mustangs I have ever done, so she was very special to me. We didn’t compete the greatest since she was so fearful showing in a coliseum of that size, so she didn’t show everyone her full potential. She sold in the auction and stayed in Tx.

Flash forward to this year she became available, and due to how important she was to me, I decided to buy her back and put some time into her to refresh her skills. Now, she is ready to look for her perfect home!

Brie is a 10 year old mare from Maverick Medicine, NV. She is 14 hands tall.

She is going to be best suited for someone who wants a pony with a go button. She can be a little sassy but she’s not crazy. Brie shows potential in the English disciplines, especially given her go button. But, she is cute western as well! She is walk trot canter, has a side pass and leg yield. And a green flying lead change. She is not the bravest, so she needs a brave rider to give her the courage she needs.

The cool crisp air feels amazing. I’m loving the fall temperatures 🍁

Hope is progressing quite nicely undersaddle. She had the weekend off while I was visiting family, but she was a rockstar in our first ride back. I was fully expecting a least a little sass when she bronced with the saddle, but she couldn’t have been better walk, trot, canter undersaddle. She is really starting to grasp steering with a go button.

Hope is a 4 yr old, 15 hand mustang mare. She will be available in January via competitive bid at the 2025 Mustang Magic!

I’m officially posting this sweet boy available. He’s had the past month off to give him a break after the makeover. He’s just been brought back into work and is doing amazing as ever.

Jimin is a 4 year old, 14 hand dun gelding from Divide Basin, WY. He was the winner of the preliminaries in the Ft Worth Mustang Show and 3rd place over all in the finals!

He is such a sweet, and talented boy. So much potential to go in any direction. He has a heart of gold and an amazing work ethic! I would categorize him as still green only since he has been undersaddle since end of May. But, he is a very solid green and doesn’t misbehave. I think he would do well with most people!

I think he could really excel as a future 4H kid horse or a show prospect!!

Please message me for price and video

We just wrapped up our 4 day clinic working with Mark Lyon. Hope has come so far in our first week together. I worked with her Monday-Tuesday, and then Mark worked with us Wednesday - this morning helping me when needed.

Hope has made so much progress this week and now has 3 rides under her belt, as well a decent foundation of her basic groundwork. Mark was very helpful in getting our first few rides done and I’m excited to continue to bring her along!

Introducing my newest mustang who will be my partner for the 2025 Mustang Magic 🪄

Meet Hope ⚡️ Her show name is Important Business. She is a 4 year old from Black Rock Range, NV.

For the mustang magic competition, we were able to select our horses. The Thursday night before the match up, we had a live draw were all of us trainers pulled a number out of bag to determine our draw number. I absolutely hate doing these as I am unlucky and normally end up with a high number. There were roughly 50 trainers to select numbers out of the bag, and they did it alphabetically. Somehow, I managed to pull out the number 2! I’ve never been that lucky before 😅

So I knew going into the match up that I was guaranteed one of my top 2 picks. I went around all the pens and picked out the ones I liked. I’m almost always drawn to the bays with chrome or any horse with chrome. It’s my favorite! But as I was going around there was something about Hope that caught my eye. I really liked her build and I especially liked her soft quiet eye. So after some much deliberation, I decided to go with the dark palomino! And so far, she has been super cool!

We have only 4 days of work since I waited until the Mustang Classic to start working her. I’m very pleased with all the progress that we have made! I think she’ll be a cool one 💛

A few highlight pictures of Kookie’s jumping classes today!

In terms of prettiness and cleanliness, it wasn’t great. But I could not be more proud of how Kookie did for me. We completed all of our classes without getting eliminated. So while we weren’t the prettiest, for as green to this as the both of us are, Kookie did great to jump everything. For a horse that had no confidence to poles just 2 months ago, it felt nice to not have any refusals. He did stop / almost stop at almost all of the XC jumps, but he never fully said no. It was a great learning experience for us both!!!

With some more time and miles, I think Kookie really has some potential. He has handled this whole environment better than I could have imagined. So proud of this boy ❤️❤️

Kookie and I survived our first class at the Mustang Classic here in Lexington, KY. It was perfect. Kookie thought that the camera next to the judge was down right terrifying, but regardless we did it!

It honestly wasn’t that bad either👍 I knew going in there we weren’t going to be amazing, but we did our whole test and got our leads. We didn’t get in the corners like I would have liked since he was concerned, but he was overall a good boy. Not too bad for as green as we both are at this!

Tomorrow morning Kookie and I will be on the road to Lexington, KY to compete in the first ever all English Mustang makeover.

Kookie has surpassed all my expectations. I don’t think we will be super competitive given how many nice horses and trainers are competing, but Kookie has come so far in just the past 2 months. Considering we didn’t start riding English until after the Franklin makeover in June, he is doing really well!

We haul in tomorrow, show Dressage on Friday. Then we have both arena cross country and show jumping Saturday.

I’m excited to go and experience this competition, regardless of how the show itself may go. I knew when I signed Kookie up that this was out of my comfort zone, as well as his. So we are just gonna go and have fun!

Kookie is available following the competition. Standing at 14.1 and a half, he will make someone a super cool pony😎

3rd place over all in the finals ❤️ I don’t remember the exact scores, but it was close between the top 3.

I’m so thrilled with how Jimin did for me all weekend. He was really tired by tonight, but he still tried his heart out of me. We had some minor bobbles in freestyle, but overall it went exactly to plan!!

Jimin sold in the auction for 6k. (To me😝) I will be bringing him home for now and will adopt him out privately later. Unfortunately I didn’t have anyone talk to me really prior to the auction and I didn’t feel comfortable letting him sell to someone I didn’t know. He’s too special of a horse for me. He gets to come home and take a much needed break!

Results are in for the preliminary classes! Jimin and I ended up winning the prelims with a score of 190.5. Words cannot express how insanely proud I am of this horse. 2nd in the preview class, 3 in trail, and 1st place in the freestyle horsemanship!!

We advanced to the finals, with our compulsory class this afternoon at 1:00PM and the freestyles start at 6:00PM. We are 2nd to work. I am not sure how everything will go, but it doesn’t matter. I am already so blown away by Jimin’s performance for me. Whether he nails his freestyle or not, he’s already a winner to me❤️

Wish us luck in the finals!!!
