Not complaining, we need the rain. But it makes my job difficult 🫤 I’ll keep in touch with riders, but the next couple days are not looking good for riding. But grateful for all the amazing riding time we have gotten in the last couple months especially. You are all growing, learning, and developing amazing skills. Keep at it, work hard. I love having you all 💙

I work on this a lot with riders and in EFL sessions. Be your horse’s leader. Help him understand and communicate what you want. He will respect you for it and you will both work together more productively.

Trailer training today. Dandy said “no thank you” but eventually said “ok, fine” after 30 minutes. His riding on the other hand is really shaping up!

Yep! Keep practicing, keep learning. It takes time!

And just like that, after school lessons are full! I am so excited for this season of riding. I think the changes we've made will really move things forward, and create well-rounded riders.

Anytime I have a monthly opening in the schedule I will post it here first. Keep an eye on the page!

I'm also hoping the consistency will allow me to create group lessons, freeing up some time for more beginners and private lessons.

Homeschoolers and adult riders, check in to get on my day time schedule.

Thanks everyone!

I have tried to explain this a few times. Anyone interested in a breed/color group lesson? I’m sure I’ll put one together soon. There is soooo much to learn there. 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

Imma die on this hill, I just know it 😅.

All Paints with color are also pintos (since it’s a color pattern, like bay, palomino, etc). But not all pintos are Paints (since it’s a breed).

No mustang is a Paint, ever.

The creator of this image, horsesandus.com, has done a lovely article on it. Check it out! https://www.horsesandus.com/pinto-vs-paint-horse/

Also, just because I am not sure if autocorrect has completely changed language or people really have never known how to spell, but……

-It’s conFORmation, not confirmation (two completely different meanings).

-It is PEN not pin. Two completely different things.

-It is since not sense (not the same thing at all).

-It’s patience not patients (this one I have been seeing a lot lately 🤦🏽‍♀️).

Thank you to whom ever created this nifty meme 😍.

Attention to detail and accuracy is rather important in so many things. We create habits in everything we do and don’t do.

Help make our horses happier :)

Just a reminder, the first week of August (1st-6th) is county fair, so we will not be holding lessons. I do have some openings next week if you want to squeeze something in! Pm or text me

Oh yyessssssss! That is it! You are partners! You aren’t simply sitting up top as your horse takes you from place to place. You communicate with them, ask them, remind them, and effectively ride TOGETHER!

Sometimes you just want to rest…in the p**p pile 🤷🏻‍♀️🐴 Horses 🙄

Teamwork! Just another learning opportunity for our riders.

Welcome Misty! We feel so fortunate to have this darling gal joining us! Due to a recent injury she will be taking some time to heal, then evaluated, and hopefully soon ready for lessons and therapy work! She is super duper sweet and is currently available for hugs, petting, treats, and lots of love 💙

Josie came riding today full of confidence and probably rode Dandy better than ever. At the end she said, “Dandy, you were such a good boy today!” I asked why Dandy was so good. “He didn’t keep putting his head down, he was in a good mood…” Although these were probably also true, I said “Nope! Dandy was good because you have learned so much and rode him well. He listened to your communication and you communicated well to him. So he understood and you had a great ride.” Biggest smile ever.
