After such a devastating day yesterday and Thursday, we got blessed with 100% hatch rate today. The egg turner did not go off when it was reset for the first three days which is critical and we were told if they weren’t turned for the first three days we should just throw all the eggs away and start over because they would be stuck to the side of the egg. Instead, I proceeded with caution as I wasn’t ready to give up. Fresh fertilized eggs are estimated at 80% hatch rate and shipped eggs which these were, a 50% hatch rate so we are feeling extra special that we had 100%. I had to assist with two but still got everyone out and healthy. Meet the new silkies!
We have a lot of sick cats at our shop but I was blessed to have good help today😊
Theodore is ready to leave to his new home today!
Captain Jack was trapped as he was seen on a camera injured. He is feral and had his eye removed and his back leg amputated. He finally moved out of a kennel and into a small room. He needs to keep his muscles working. I only see him on camera as he never comes out of his hiding box. He appears to be doing very very well.
Slash
Slash had a vet visit for his bloody sneezing. Trying a 3rd antibiotic 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Dennis started the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue and was my first mini. He is almost 30 years old. He had been with Van Gogh for almost 17 years. Van Gogh passed away last week and Dennis has been by himself pacing and whinnying looking for Van Gogh. I knew we had to get him a friend and fast but something that would not beat him up, trying to be the king of the pack. Today he got to meet new arrival, perfect padlock partner, Maribel.
This mama came to us after she became homeless and living in a vehicle. A week later, she decided to surprise us and have her kittens for in time for Giving Hearts Day. She had five of them. A little 2 1/2 week old kitten arrived that is paralyzed and dragging its back legs because it had been slammed in a door by accident. In the meantime, the kitten would very much benefit having a mom. Even though it was much larger than the newborn kittens, we thought it was worth the effort until we could get her to the vet and mama was so wonderful and took her on right away. What a Giving Heart. Hopefully we will get new good news from the vet.
From trying to survive outside young and deaf, to living at the pound and left unclaimed, to arriving at Kitty City loving her own soft blanket and fun toys. After all the dirt and debris removed from ears we could just about plant a garden.

GIVING HEARTS DAY
Giving Hearts Day helps cats at the Kitty City sanctuary. These cats may be missing eyes, ears, front legs, back feet, and teeth. Some are deaf, neurological, have brain damage, are in hospice, behaviorally challenged, amputees, many have severe cerebellar hypoplasia, many are blind and a multitude are FIV+. Some of the cats have been in shelters for literally years, some were scheduled for euthanasia at their local impound. Prior to Kitty City, these cats had nowhere to go and no one to adopt them. Thanks to you and your amazing support, these cats now have a place to call home at the Kitty City sanctuary or in the Kitty City barn.
