Determined Dandelion is a 35g female produced by Sweet Scales Reptiles out of Blueberry x Amber. She's got a lovely dark red base and some nice ink spots coming in. Now tailless, she is growing into a nice, robust girl.

Armadillidium klugii "orange" is the orange mutation of klugii, originally isolated from "Montenegro" stock. As such, individuals in culture display both white and yellow spotting.

Color Index is a stunning male out of Maraschino x Cherry Roulade, from my patterned dalmatian project. He has really nice contrast between the reds and cream; while also being flecked wtih thick spots.

Armadillidium klugii "High red" is a trait from the Dubrovnik locale. It does have a strong genetic factor, but linebreeding has encouraged this trait to become brighter and more prominent over time.

Bufotes is a proven Mainland male chahoua produced by Phantom Dragons. Sorry, I did not buy him direct from PD so I do not have specific lineage on him. He was hatched sometime in 2018 and has produced stunningly pink saturated babies for me.

The "Dubrovnik" locale of Armadillidium klugii displays both yellow and white spots of varying intensity, but is particularly well known for the increased red skirting extending to tip the edge of all the segments of the animal.

Bearclaw is a proven lavender female from Emily's Geckos out of Garnet x Faucet. Here she is in 3 different photo and light settings. She was bred this year, and has produced some very nice dark based harlequin animals.

Members of the culture Armadillidium insulatum have varying amounts of orange stripes and spots down the center of their back. If line bred, this trait could be encouraged to be more prominent, but over the years it has faded quite a bit.

I produced Hoarfrost out of Gobo x Palladium in 2021, and she is now a proven female. She makes nice dark kids with just as stunning of contrast that she has, and he drips combined with the stark contrast of colors is nothing to sneeze at.

64Bit is a RTB male produced by 8 Ball Exotics. He came out of the pair Poseidon x Lovegood, and I initially picked him up for the pixel patterning he had going on. He's a very gorgeous extreme harlequin with a dark base, think dorsum, and floppy head.

Armadillidium granulatum "Koi" is a mutation that spontaneously appeared in our granulatum culture that we have been isolating and linebreeding for increased contrast for the past 2 years. This mutation causes section of white, inhibiting the dark pigment, while also encouraging splashes of red and yellow in the animals.

Armadillidium granulatum is commonly referred to as "The granulated pillbug" because of the subtle texturing across its exoskeleton.

Armadillidium gestroi is among the largest isopods in the hobby, and potentially the largest variety of Armadillidium. They're also just gorgeous with the stunning yellow spots on their backside.

We have been struggling getting our culture of Armadillidium frontetriangulum to thrive, but I am happy to report that after YEARS we finally have a substantial population! Here's hoping we can share starter cultures by the end of the year 🤞

Armadillidium klugii "Montenegro" also called the "clown isopod" is the most well known locale of klugii. This variety has the dark base with red skirting, and a distribution of white and yellow spots.

Due to all the morphs of nasatum available in the hobby, we have made a mix of the morphs and named it "Nosey mix". It's not garunteed which mutations will be pulled for a culture, but we do our best to get a good mix of peach, wild type, rust, white out, and pearl.

Armadillidium nasatum "pearl" causes a reduction of pigment in the majority of the culture; members range from white to a range of beiges and light browns.
Oddly enough, about 10% of the males in culture are speckled with dark spots.

The "silver" mutation of Armadillidium corcyraem is possibly an expression of hypomelanism; it reduces but does not inhibit pigment. The resulting visual is a mix of greys, dark markings, and splattering of white highlights.

Although slower to breed, Armadillidium corcyraem is a very unique isopod with its color and pattern- with a dark base and clean, white spots it has a strong visual effect.

Armadillidium cf. pallasii "Croatian giant" is a locale of the cf. pallasii cultivar. Collected in Croatia, although it is not larger in length (typically) these are found to be more robust in width than the non-locale cultivar cousins.

Among the largest of isopods, Armadillidium cf. pallasii reaches an impressive size of over 2cm at full adulthood. These isopods can initially be exhausting to establish; because while they are not seasonal breeders, the time between brooding cycles is much longer than other species, between 8 and 16 weeks.

Armadillidium pallasii "orange" is probably my favorite variety of orange morph. The have this delightful pale skirt, and a creamy middle that fades to a light orange. They look almost ethereal.

Armadillidium espanyoli is a very charming variety of isopod on the smaller end; they breed at a decent rate and are small enough to avoid predation. They're a good option for CUC for those interested in using Armadillidium and are useful in temperate and tropical environments.

Armadillidium badium is often assigned the label of "Castledaccia" for the geographic location that this particular locale was collected.
I like to think of them as "The bumblebee isopod" due to their vivid black and yellow coloring.
Some individuals in culture do trend to have less yellow and mostly black along with natural variation in the species.

"Lawn shrimp" are a hilarious terrestrial amphipod that really do look like shrimp. This smaller variety were collected in Florida, and breed readily in warm, moist boxes of dirt.
The expression on the faces of my employees caring for lawn shrimp for the first time are hilarious, because they usually worry the little isopods pinging all over the bin have some sort of a neurological disorder.

The monkey tailed skink at Snake Discovery is gravid and she is probably just as miserable as she looks, their babies are 1/3 the size of the adults!
