š£: We are in MAYDAY status, which means we may have to euthanize an animal for space if our intakes overcome our capacity for care. We will not keep them in inhumane conditions, that is NOT fair to them.. our partner and receiving shelters are all full and we are looking to the community we serve to help our animals.. How can you help?ā¬ļøā¬ļø
1. Adopt! The quickest way to make space is to adopt a pet from our shelter!
2. Foster! We provide everything the animal will need in your home, no cost to you! Just like adoption, it frees up two spaces, one for the animal you take home, and one for an animal coming into our system. You help us learn more about the animal in a home setting, and help us market them by sending photos and updates!
3. Network! Help us share our animalās photos and stories! Share them to groups on Facebook, Nextdoor, and talk about them at local community gatherings! Tag your friends, family and rescues who may be interested in helping!
4. If you find a stray animal that is friendly, try and keep it and look for its owner for a few days! You can make a report to us and send us a photo, but keeping it out of the shelter will help keep room open for an animal in dire need of our space! Most animals that go missing are within a mile of where they live!
We canāt do this without our community, please help us help them! We want to remain a no kill open admission shelter but itās going to take the whole village to do that!
We are a high intake, open admission animal control facility and shelter located in Lacombe, Louisiana at 31078 Highway 36. We are open Monday-Saturday 8-4PM for adoptions. We need your help to save lives.
Tomorrow, we will be doing a walkthrough tour on Facebook Live at 10:00AM sharp of everything ā so everyone can see how dire the situation is becoming. It can be fixed though, with your help! You can be a hero!
