If you only knew the tapestry of stories of hope, perseverance and love that are illuminated through working, volunteering, fostering and adopting here at our shelter - you would see that there is still Good in the world. The bond of community and comraderie here is strong. It is accessible to everyone at any level. There is always something you can do, for the betterment of the shelter and its animals. Is it overwhelming? Yes. Is it hard? Sometimes. Is there purpose in it? Wholehearted.
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need a kind heart and a cool head. Everything else will fall into place. All are welcome here so long as they are friends to animals.
To our community: Please share your testimony of interacting with our shelter below in the comments and share this post so others can also see — whether you work here, volunteer here, foster with us, or have adopted from us. We are an organically grown community organization of advocates and friends to animals and our strength lies within that community.
Join us. Heroes are needed. As a foster, an adopter, a volunteer — but above all — an advocate. We are in the darkest year in the animal welfare industry across this country and there is a lot at stake. There’s never been a better time to be the hero to animals in your community.
