Sandman is still looking for his forever home! He’s the sweetest, snuggliest, sassiest boy I ever did meet! He is trained and the training will continue once he’s in his new home! He’s been great with my four dogs, has been good with kids and loves everyone he meets!

This sweet boy is spending the week with me and the only complaint I have is that he loves too much! 🥰 He goes where you go and loves to snuggle! He is fantastic in his kennel (sometimes I have to wake him up to get him out), is already a great walker and hasn’t had an accident once! He’ll be spending the weekend with me and my pups but this dude would be a perfect match for anyone looking for a big baby!

Check out the new post for some ways to beat the heat! All of my dogs love being outside and playing fetch, but heat exhaustion can happen fast! Always have fresh water and a cool place for your pup to lay and relax

We had a “Wacky Wednesday” for sure! Boomer and Rudy taught the campers how to approach dogs we don’t know, how to pet a puppy, and how to walk a dog on a leash! I think we have a few dog trainers in the making! 🤗🤗

Ethan has been staying with me for almost two weeks! He is the most trainable, hard working, easy going, and loving pup I’ve ever had the pleasure working with! He is so content having a yard to run in and a friend to walk him! He’s is fantastic on and off leash already and continues to learn and grow day by day! Who ever adopts Ethan will have truly won the doggie lottery! 🐶💙

P.s. Once Ethan is adopted, the training will continue in your home! This way you will feel confident in handling him

🐶 Training Tip Tuesday 🐶

There is no better gift from Santa-paws than a puppy, as long as you’re prepared for a LIFE LONG COMMITMENT! Puppies are cute and cuddly until they become Tasmanian devils and tear up the house and bite your kids. That’s why it’s important to start training as soon as they come home, but that training takes a lot of time and energy.

Fancy is a perfect example. She is a 5 month old Boykin spaniel who loves exploring, jumping and biting everything she’s not supposed to. These are all typical puppy behaviors, but until she’s fully matured, we have to set up strict boundaries so we can prevent her from hurting herself or others! TAKE YOUR TIME! I promise you won’t even remember the puppy phase in a few years!

Our dogs learn through repetition! Going over commands repeatedly in the beginning, allows you and your pup to feel more comfortable and confident when you start increasing distractions!

Anyone who knew Apollo, you knew he was all over the place! Although he was an older dog, he didn’t act a day over two! The second we started setting boundaries and using equipment to correct for his crazy behaviors, he was a lot more manageable! We could walk him without feeling like we were in a sled dog race and could trust that he wasn’t going to escape if we accidentally left a crack in the door! 🐕🛷🐾

Training starts the moment you bring your new puppy home! Walk them on a leash so that they are comfortable having equipment on, introduce the kennel, and keep an extremely close eye on your new puppy😳🐾Once your puppy is ready for official training, the whole family is one step ahead!

Kennels are not only used as a safe space for your dog but they are also the perfect way to start setting boundaries for your furry friend! If you can’t keep an eye on your pup, they should be in their kennel (no matter how long you’re away!)

The first step in our training is to leave the equipment on when ever your pup is out of their kennel (As long as you have eyes on them!) This allows you to control your furry friend if they get too excited or a little over anxious!🐕‍🦺
