Happy National Dog Walker Appreciation Day!

🐾 A special thank you to Aggietails’ very own dog handlers—because we’re not just your average dog walkers. Every outing is more than a walk: we’re training leash skills, building confidence, socializing around strangers and other dogs, reducing reactivity, practicing impulse control, and adding enrichment. We are progressing in your dog's training each time they are collected for a walk.

A little sneak peek into how our summer is going (spoiler: it’s flying by!) 🌞🐾 Adding new dog handlers to our team has been a game changer for getting more pups out on adventures. To beat the heat, we’re focusing on:
🌿 Leash skills on shaded morning trails
🐕‍🦺 Impulse control in dog-friendly stores
🌊 Confidence building & socializing on water outings
Training never stops, but we make sure it’s fun (and cool) for everyone! #

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🎆

🎆 Make sure your dog has a safe and peaceful weekend! Here are some precautions to take:

⭐ Walk your dogs first thing this morning! A tired dog is often a calmer dog. Get in a good walk or play session before the evening.

⭐ Keep them indoors — Fireworks can be loud and frightening. Keep your dog inside where it’s quietest.

⭐ Create a safe space — Set up a comfy area with their favorite bed, toys, and blankets where they can feel secure. Aim for a contained, quiet space in your house, such as placing their kennel in a basement or bathroom.

⭐ Use their food as a tool to calm them - prepare frozen lick mats, kongs, anything that they can lick away

⭐ Use calming aids if needed — Consider a calming vest, pheromone diffusers, melatonin/CBD calming chews or other options.

⭐ Play soothing sounds — White noise machines, calming classical music, or even TV can help drown out fireworks.

⭐ Check IDs and microchips — Make sure their tags are up to date in case they get scared and run off.

⭐ Avoid bringing them to fireworks shows — It might seem fun, but most dogs find it overwhelming.
