It's one of the most busiest times of year for everyone, especially those of us in pet care, but it doesn't mean we aren't trying our best to give back to our community!

This year we are shopping for Prairie Paws Animal Shelter - Manhattan KS and the The Crisis Center, Inc.!

MiKaela works full time for us and part time with the crisis center and as of yesterday they still had needs to fill for their Christmas Bureau! We adopted two teenage boys and their wants were jeans, warm hats, and watches. We are making this happen and more and we encourage our friends and community to help out this holiday season if able.

Hello Leads Family - We are asking for grace over the next few days as we will be short staffed as I, Jennifer, take time off to be with my Dad as he loses his battle with Cancer. MiKaela and the team will take care of everyone on the schedule but there might be some delay in response time to requests and inquiries as the team helps here in the business and with my personal life.

We are nearing Thanksgiving and Christmas is creeping up too. This is another reminder to make any pet care arrangements now as we and other local businesses are getting booked up.

As always thank you for sharing your pets with us. It means more than you know.

Introducing our new friend Rio! 💛

This energetic girl needs lots of exercise and when his dad's helper isn't available we get to step in! We instantly fell in love with her goofy smile and adventurous personality and we are looking forward to all the future walks.

New friend alert!

We are welcoming this large crew to the Leads family....Thomas, Pearl, George, Abby, and Finnegan! 🤗

They use us for potty breaks on an as needed basis depending on if mom and dad are both on clinicals or not. We have really enjoyed getting to know them so far and can't wait to spend even more time with them! 💛

Congrats to our friends on their new 2 legged addition! 💙

This family moved out of Manhattan 2 years ago but they are still part of our Leads family. During their time in MHK we were their during foster kittens, deployments, 5K trainings, birthdays, and everything in between. While they aren't here any longer we are so happy to be able to celebrate this moment in life with them.

Our pet friends and their families are amazing and we are so happy to be a small part of their lives.

Congrats again to Mia, Danny, and the whole crew! Thank you for keeping us updated on your lives and we miss you guys! 💛

Small businesses all around town are feeling like this. I hope TheraPie,LLC knows they aren't alone.

We are constantly asking will we make payroll? Can we pay our bills?

Vulnerability Warning:
Often, I'm asked how business is going, and I give a positive response because dagnabit... isn't that how manifesting is supposed to happen? You speak positive, you work hard, take care of folks, make amazing products, and then everything falls in line.
I'm finding that is not always the case... at least not yet. Yesterday, someone asked me how business was going, and I said, "Things are a bit rough, and I'm worried." This person was shocked to hear it and said, "Have you told people that, because I wouldn't have known." I was honest with another customer who was here from Beloit, and then she worked on spending as much as she could. It made me feel incredibly grateful and incredibly embarrassed and guilty. In my head, I know people are struggling and budgeting harder. I don't ever want to put anyone out or make them feel like they HAVE to get anything.
Some days, we are squeaking by. Some days, we breathe a sigh of relief that we had just enough to pay this pay period in payroll. And then, the blessings come, and the pie sales are great, and we know we'll keep on keeping on.

I share this only to put truth and vulnerability into the world. It makes my stomach flutter, and my heart beat faster.
I appreciate you all and all your support. I appreciate the ability to pay our incredible team. I appreciate the ability to connect with you and share our deep love through pie.
