Some days the puppy cam shows more than puppies. Nobody cares more. Jen stays up late whelping, does the pUpdates, she feeds the pups, trims their nails, continually cleans up after them, plays with them, buys them toys, and does anything else you can imagine with them…like falling asleep with them riding out a thunderstorm last night. She’s the reason you can bet any pup from Hickory Hollow has had the best life from day one.

I’ve been around bird dogs my entire life. There are just not many braces I’ve ever seen ran 7 at a time without a rodeo. A good deal of dogs can’t run two at a time effectively. Yet here we are, a brace of 7, nearly every summer morning and evening. I wish I could tell you there’s a trick to it and I’m a magical trainer. The reality is these dogs are smart enough to know we aren’t hunting, we’re just out enjoying the evening, getting some exercise, nosing up butterflies. That said, there’s no reason for them to act like their tails are on fire…just nice and easy. It was a super nice evening. #hickoryhollowllewellins

One of the oldest hotels in the west allows dogs for an extra $20. The Grand Hotel in Big Timber, MT. I asked if it was ok for the dogs to get on the bed and they said we’d have it no other way. Ruby and Puddin’ getting their last bit of play time together. #hickoryhollowllewellins
