New Stray Alert! - Male dog found at 8th and Laramie

We share images of stray animals to facilitate their reunion with their owners. To reclaim a pet, owners must provide proof of ownership. Reclaims are possible seven days a week, with walk-ins accepted from 9am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday, & 1pm to 5pm on Sunday. Appointments outside regular hours, including Sunday mornings, can be arranged by coordinating with shelter staff via phone or email. If you believe any of these animals are yours, please contact the shelter at 785-587-2783 or email us at [email protected].

Today is the last day for fee-waived adoptions thanks to Hill’s Pet Nutrition! Our locations are open 1pm to 5pm today.

During this adoption campaign, Hill’s has been generously sponsoring fully waived adoption fees on all pets at all Prairie Paws locations this weekend. Adopters also receive a New Pet Parent Kit from Hill’s, which includes a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet, a coupon and post-adoption tips.

Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will be closed to the public on Tuesday, August 25 while our team participates in a staff training day.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we take time to continue developing our team and improving the care and service we provide.

We are teaming up with Hill’s Pet Nutrition for an adoption campaign this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The event is part of NBCUniversal Local’s 12th annual Clear The Shelters, the nation’s largest pet adoption and donation initiative.

During this adoption campaign, Hill’s is generously sponsoring fully waived adoption fees on all pets at all Prairie Paws locations from 8/21 to 8/23. Adopters will also receive a New Pet Parent Kit from Hill’s, which includes a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet, a coupon and post-adoption tips.
