Have you ever heard of a Freestyle Libre? The Freestyle Libre is a continuous glucose monitor that was originally made for humans but has become an important tool in the vet world! The Freestyle Libre is a small monitor that attaches to the skin and measures blood glucose levels throughout the day. This allows our veterinarian to monitor a patient's glucose consistently and possibly identify problems as well as come up with a more detailed plan for managing diabetic patients! Sue is one of our patients who has used the Freestyle Libre. As you can see in the first graph, Sue's blood glucose was very well managed and within normal limits. However, the second graph is an example of when his blood glucose was higher than it should be. Thanks to the Freestyle Libre we were able to identify this issue and adjust his treatment plan to get him feeling back to normal!

Dom knows what he wants! Dom recently came to see us for an annual checkup and decided the best way to make sure we didn't forget to give him treats was to take a seat right next to the treat shelf. Needless to say Dom got plenty of snacks for his visit!

Sweet Koda came in recently to get a dental cleaning and had a draining tract from a tooth root abscess! These typically form after bacteria infects a traumatized tooth, then creates a pocket at the root tip. Thankfully Dr. Waters did a great job of taking care of Koda and got him all fixed up!

Thank you all for celebrating National Vet Tech Week with us and giving our technicians some much needed appreciation! Just a reminder that our vet staff does much more behind the scenes than they always get credit for, including (but not limited to) many of the responsibilities below! Help us give a last hurrah to our veterinary technicians, nurses, assistants, receptionists, and all other staff as we close out National Vet Tech Week!

Last but not least is Logan (featuring Maggie)! Logan has been with the clinic for almost 3 years and does a little bit of everything! Right now, you will mostly see Logan as a receptionist, but she also does lab work, runs the social media, and much more! Like many of our other technicians, Logan is applying for vet school and hopes to one day become a veterinarian! Wish her luck!
