She's just a baby! Cori Jean visited us recently for a blood glucose curve, which is a diagnostic tool used for monitoring patients with diabetes through a series of hourly blood draws. Whenever it was time for her blood draws, Cori Jean politely requested she be held like a baby and we obviously had to oblige. Cori Jean is the sweetest pup and we all love seeing her at the clinic!

Do you all remember Steel?? He was just a puppy last time we posted him, but this is him now! Steel recently came in for a weight check and was just under 100lbs if you can believe it. Despite growing up, Steel is still the sweetest puppy who can't get enough love and attention, and we all love it when he comes into the clinic!

Check out this gorgeous girl! Eden visited us recently and was the sweetest girl. After her exam, Eden decided to relax on the exam room chair (quite majestically if we do say so ourselves)!

FOUND DOG

This pup was found around 12:45pm today at the corner of Wreath Avenue and Village Drive by our doctors. He is a neutered Mini Schnauzer wearing an orange collar and green bandana, and he has no microchip or tags. We are estimating that he is 4-7 years old. He was found with what appeared to be his housemate (Rat Terrier/Beagle mix) but the housemate was unwilling to approach our doctors and ran away down Village Drive away from Wreath Avenue. He is very sweet but obviously misses his family, so if you or anyone else you know are looking for their pups, please reach out to us at 785-539-7922 or stop by the clinic!

⚠WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES AHEAD⚠
Jaxson is a feline patient of ours who recently came in because he wasn't acting himself. After some radiographs were taken, Dr. Iseman discovered that Jaxson had bladder stones (in the red circled area) and was in need of a cystotomy. As you can see here, there was a dramatic difference in the size of the bladder before and after removing all of those stones. Jaxson was the sweetest patient during his visit, and we are very happy that Dr. Iseman was able to take care of him and help him feel better!

Dental care is no joke! Obsidian recently came in for a dental and Dr. Fountain found multiple resorptive lesions. Resorptive lesions are a condition similar to cavities in humans but are not due to the bacteria in the mouth. Small holes in the enamel allow damage to the underlying tissue known as the dentin. If left untreated this condition can progress into the pulp, which is the soft, sensitive portion of the tooth. Resorptive lesions can be very painful and cause many other complications. Thankfully, Dr. Fountain was able to remove these teeth before they caused any further pain or issues!

Does everyone remember sweet Monty that we posted a few weeks ago? Meet his new little sister named Mel! Mel and Monty's lovely owners brought the two in recently to introduce Mel to the staff. This is not only a treat for everyone in the clinic, but it also helps establish a good relationship between the staff and a new patient, which will hopefully help future visits be less stressful for Mel! We can't wait to see you grow Mel!
