Just a reminder that the clinic will be closed for the holiday starting from Thursday, November 28th, through Sunday, December 1st. We will open back up on Monday, December 2nd, at normal clinic hours (7:30am-5:30pm). If you need to get any medications, vaccines for boarding, or anything else please contact us with plenty of time to spare before the holiday!

Is that a polar bear cub? Nope, that's just Steel! Steel is a Great Pyrenees puppy that visited us recently. Much to our delight, Steel was a huge fan of all kinds of attention, and everyone had to get some puppy snuggles in! We can't wait to watch you grow!

Belle came in to see us recently for a dental cleaning and to get a fractured tooth removed! Belle had what is called a slab fracture which causes a large part of the chewing surface of the tooth to be lost. Thankfully Dr. Waters was able to remove the fractured tooth and help Belle feel much better!

Have you ever heard of a Freestyle Libre? The Freestyle Libre is a continuous glucose monitor that was originally made for humans but has become an important tool in the vet world! The Freestyle Libre is a small monitor that attaches to the skin and measures blood glucose levels throughout the day. This allows our veterinarian to monitor a patient's glucose consistently and possibly identify problems as well as come up with a more detailed plan for managing diabetic patients! Sue is one of our patients who has used the Freestyle Libre. As you can see in the first graph, Sue's blood glucose was very well managed and within normal limits. However, the second graph is an example of when his blood glucose was higher than it should be. Thanks to the Freestyle Libre we were able to identify this issue and adjust his treatment plan to get him feeling back to normal!
