Bruce says goodnight to all, stay warm out there! Bruce is a very special boy looking for his forever home! Someone that can keep up with his training, exercise and play. I don't know my manors very well sometimes but be patient with me, I like to learn anything for a treat, he can even shake hands! Did someone say it's Veggie time?!

Oso, a cattle dog mix, arrived at BENCHS this past May when he was just 8 months old. With a heart full of love and paws full of energy, Oso was bursting at the seams. He was the definition of “high-octane.” Splashing water out of his pail? Check. Bouncing around like a furry pinball? Absolutely. Jumping and nipping at volunteers because he was just so excited? Every single day. Oso wasn’t a bad boy—he just hadn’t quite figured out how to channel all that enthusiasm. The staff and volunteers adored Oso, but he had some learning to do before he could find his forever home. For 4½ months, they worked tirelessly to teach him manners. With patience, love, and lots of treats, Oso learned to sit, wait, and channel his excitement into playtime rather than chaos. One crisp October morning, Oso’s life changed forever. A nice human came to meet him, and this time, someone didn’t see his energy as “too much” but as just right. They knew exactly what Oso needed—a sister to wrestle with, wide-open fields to explore, and a purpose to focus his zest for life. Now, Oso is thriving in his new home. He spends his days running free, playing to his heart’s content, and even attending school to become a hunting dog. His story is proof that every dog has their moment—it just takes the right person to see their potential and an organization committed to uniting families with their perfect pets, like BENCHS. Oso’s success story wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of donors like you. Your contributions give dogs like Oso the second chance they deserve.
