Donna just took into rescue. Boomer’s had a hard life, and after a very long day of grooming yesterday, Angie volunteered her time to give him the spa treatment that he deserves! His smile says it all! Ang, no matter how tired you are, your love and compassion for animals is admirable!!

Long standing client, Rory, moved to Florida last year and is living the good life! She recently came back for a visit, but no visit was complete without seeing her favorite groomer, Angie, for another pamper before heading back. It was so great to see her and Mom, and we’ve missed them so much! We were excited to hear, though, that next year they’ll be here for the whole summer. Rory and Michelle, it was great to see you and we look forward to seeing you again next summer! 🐾🐶🐩🩷☀️

⚠️🚙⚠️ Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs in the U.S. die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️

SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.

Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.

• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.

• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.

• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.

• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.

• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.

• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.

• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.

Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.

If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.

We just found out that our precious Cuddles will be moving to Georgia! This sweet little guy has been coming to us for nine-years now! Through the years we’ve watched him grow from just a little tyke to who he is now. Cuddles, we love you SO, SO much!! And, Angie is sure gonna miss pampering you! We truly looked forward to your visits! We’re so sad to see you go, but at the same time we’re so happy for you and your family, as well. From what we understand, you’ll have a nice yard to play in. Sherry, thank you so much for patronizing us all these years, and entrusting his care to us. He truly was a joy! We wish you all the very best, and we plan on staying in touch with you!

Meet little Blaine. Isn’t he precious?! He’s Shannon’s newest family member, which makes him new to the Suburban Tails family, as well. She just adopted him from Every Cats Dream, and we’re just thrilled for both of them! Little Blaine, we’re so happy for you because you have the best Mommy ever! You will have a beautiful life! 😻😻😻

Excellent advice for raising children with dogs:

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Shannon volunteered her time and talent at this wonderful cat rescue organization today. One of the kitties she groomed was a beautiful Maine C**n with severe matting who came from a hoarding situation. Great job, Shannon! Your compassion for animals is infinite! ❤️😻❤️
