Shakur an adorable German Shepherd mix puppy, from the Laredo Animal Shelter, he was our first AGSDR ambassador at our holiday gift wrap event last Saturday. We will be at Barton Creek Mall wrapping gifts until the 24th! 🎁

Our 17th annual holiday gift wrap starts tomorrow! 🎁🎄

Over the next 12 days over 75 volunteers will help us staff 248 volunteer shifts. We will gift wrap almost 1,000 gifts and raise thousands of dollars in funding to rescue and rehabilitate German shepherds in need across Texas!

There’s still time to volunteer. Message us to sign up for a gift wrap shift!

If you cannot volunteer, please stop by and allow us to wrap your gifts!

There was a special celebration this past weekend for a former AGSDR pup, Kelani's family celebrated her 1 year adoption day! 🎉

Kelani has spent the past year enjoying trail walks, lots of cuddles and love from her family. 🩷 Kelani was formally named Blossom. Kelani's name was inspired by their trip to Hawaii, Kelani means Heaven. 🌺

Michael’s story is nothing short of miraculous. He was found on the streets of South DFW, Texas, in unimaginable condition—emaciated at just 33 lbs, with his head and neck dangerously swollen. He was at death’s door.

Thanks to the kindness of a good Samaritan who rushed him to a vet, Michael received life-saving care. The veterinary staff worked tirelessly, day and night, to pull him through. After a week in the hospital, Michael was placed in a loving foster home where his recovery journey truly began.

Fast forward to today, Michael has made a complete transformation. He now weighs a healthy 60 lbs, his coat is shiny and luxurious, and his wounds—both physical and emotional—are fully healed.

He is kennel trained, food motivated, and loves to play with other German Shepherds, both male and female. His active and energetic play style makes him a perfect match for an equally active family, especially one with another dog.

Michael has shown no signs of dog aggression and would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to blossom.

🚨FOSTER PLEA‼️ Sonja – 3 year old female, 67 lbs., HW neg Not spayed yet but we will spay her. This is a SWEET girl. She’s been hanging out in the office with staff for a few days. She’s a little nervous here, and wants to stay right next to you. She’s been quiet and calm in her crate in the office. Guess what? Sandy recently went on her first group camping trip and she did so well! ✨ She was off-leash at the campsite and had excellent recall. 🏕️ She got to play nonstop with another dog in the group, hiked on some trails and went swimming in the lake.
