Stalling during labor after having three big healthy pups this mama needed a little help to finish up. While setting up for a C-section was in progress, Dr Ernst managed to medical help her get this last pup out — and she was alive and healthy!! Bonus that no surgery was needed. Dam and pups all doing well!

It's National Veterinary Technician Week.... you might not know ALL of the things that Veterinary Technicians do day to day-- the list is endless actually. Technicians are critical for patient care! Kirby Veterinary Hospital has the best Technicians and we are so thankful for their dedication, care and expertise every day.

As we wrap up our Staff Appreciation Week I just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge and thank ALL of our staff that help make Kirby Vet such a great place! The Client Service Representatives on the front line, taking client calls, triaging client concerns, working their magic on the schedule, answering questions and juggling calls, appointments, med requests! The Technicians - working with clients and our patients as true 'jack of all trades' - appointments, phlebotomy, radiology, treatments, surgical prep/monitoring/recovery, laboratory, client education and patient care.... our technicians are integral in everything that happens with patients in the hospital. The assistants- working with our doctors and technicians to assist with patient restraint, appointment prep and many of the 'unseen' jobs that keep the hospital running. Our Doctors- full time, part time and relief - we appreciate their dedication to our clients and patients, their knowledge and care. Each position and person is an important part of Kirby and we could never accomplish everything we do without each and every one! I am so appreciative of everyone's efforts and lucky to have such a wonderful crew here- Dedicated, Compassionate, Skilled and Knowledgeable-- Kirby Vet rocks because of YOU all!!! I can't believe we've been open for 12 years now.... it seems like just yesterday. And as always I am so thankful for our wonderful clients and folks in the community who have supported us! A Thursday afternoon C-section! Great job team Kirby— *11* puppies! Due on Saturday but these puppies were not waiting. Dam and pups all doing well!! Thank you to our awesome staff for staying late and coming in on your day off— with 11 puppies it was all hands on deck!!

Tricks with Craig

Did you know January is #trainyourpetmonth!? These cold bursts provide a great time to work with your pet on training and building your bond. Other than obedience training pets can be taught countless tricks! What tricks does your pet know? Share with us! Did you know there are organizations where you can earn titles for teaching your pet tricks?...it isnt just for dogs! Right now Craig is working on his novice trick cat title through do more with your dog! He is looking to learn and demonstrate 15 points worth of tricks ;) we would like to say ringing a bell is by far his favorite!
