You’ll likely remember Regina George (now Violet), the Beagle we rescued in December 2024 after she was hit by a car and severed her spine. She spent last Christmas recovering from surgery and learning how to walk again. Her adopter sent this wonderful update, “I wanted to share Violet's Christmas this year. It is a far cry from last year. She got to enjoy a Christmas stocking with her sister Maisy and some treats send from her doggie cousin Nadya.”

We got such a great response about Poppy, we wanted to give Scotty the same chance! Although we’ve had many folks reach out, none have been the right fit yet. Scotty is around six years old and despite probably having a tough start in life, has grown into the most loving dog you could hope to meet. He has a lot of energy so he would be perfect for anyone from a dynamic family to an active senior. He loves playing with other dogs and putting his hound powers into action-if you’ve ever wanted a dog who would excel at scent work, Scotty can track a squirrel from three blocks over. DFW BB alum Lulu sadly crossed the rainbow bridge this week. Her family shared this sweet photo and said,“Lulu had mammary cancer and a heart murmur. She was the light of our lives and we will miss her greatly. R.I.P sweet girl. Thank you for trusting us to be her and Izzy’s forever home.”

Handsome Scotty is still looking for his forever home! Although we’ve had folks reach out, none have been quite the right fit. Scotty is around 6 years old, and is an active, playful, and friendly boy. He’s looking for an active household where he can run and play, but still snuggle up to his people on the couch at night. Scotty has been doing some training at his foster home and has learned a few commands. He has been potty trained with a doggy door and has never had an accident. Poppy is here with our official North Texas Giving Day total! Thank y’all for donating $5,156 to help us rescue more Beagles just like her. She needed an extensive dental cleaning including 13 extractions. Thankfully, she is all healed up and is officially ready for adoption! She had extensive surgery at Texas A&M at a cost of $13,000 and was with our rescue for 7 months before being adopted by a wonderful family.
