Last night, Tinsley Kay helped give Dolly Parton her dewormer! She did such an amazing job! It makes it fun when Dolly Parton loves the dewormer as much as she does 🙃. It is always so rewarding to pass my knowledge down to my kids! Who knows, maybe one day she or Rowdy Wayne will take over the business for me! 🥰

Natalie, one of our amazing instructors, took her riding lesson on Ginger yesterday! Ginger is one of our newer horses so yesterday was all about getting her ready to be a part of our lesson program for our students! Natalie worked on strengthening her use of split reins while riding, as well as improving Gingers stops and ensuring that she picks up the correct lead when loping. With more practice, Ginger will be ready for our program in no time! I love that our amazing instructors continue taking lessons from me to continue learning and furthering their riding ability as well as bettering the horses which also helps our lesson program. Thanks for a wonderful lesson Natalie!

Piper has been taking lessons with us for a little over 3 months and already advanced so much. She has an interest in barrel racing so that is where our focus has been. She rode Black Mare this week and had an amazing lesson! It is so fun to watch students work for their goals and watch them progress every week.

Horses are the main attraction but we also have lots of goats here at Little K Acres.🐐They are all so much fun to have around and are a big part of our petting zoo! We have 5 new baby goats already this year that would love some extra attention so make sure you ask your instructor to introduce you to them the next time you are out!🤗

🎉Kenan has come out for a birthday lesson 2 years in a row now! He is always so happy to ride and is so sweet to all of our horses. We loved having him out and hope to see him again next year! Thank you for choosing to celebrate your birthday with us, we hope you had an amazing birthday and lesson! 🎉

Lizzie has been taking lessons with us for about a year and a half and attended our summer camp! She is continuing to improve so much! During her lesson last week we worked on her seat while going faster and making sure she knows all the different patterns that we practice during lessons. We can’t wait to see how much more she grows, and we hope to see her at camp again this year!

This is Dolly Parton!
Before coming to live with us in 2021, Dolly Parton was retired from the brood mare program at Huntsville Prison. She did have a baby for us this past May, his name is Charlie! He is adorable!
Now she is used as a lesson horse for riders at any experience level, from beginner to advanced. She loves to take care of her riders and will adapt to their level of confidence each and every lesson. She is also used as a unicorn and a paint canvas for parties and camps!
She has such a huge personality and loves treats/attention, be sure to give her some love this week during your lesson!

Trinity has been taking lessons with us for about 3 years now and her confidence is definitely starting to shine through! Even though riding horses can be scary, we are so proud of her commitment to continue learning! We are so excited to see her confidence grow with even more practice!

Carolina has been taking lessons with us for a few years now and she continues to improve every lesson! During her lesson last night, we focused on working the horse around the arena allowing the student to pick the gait (between walk, trot and lope) then they can decide whether they are going to turn a circle, stop, weave poles, change directions, etc.
This drill is great for building a sense of independence and confidence in their knowledge! Carolina did amazing during her lesson, we can’t wait to see how much more she improves!
