Your Sunday morning sunshine. π
You're welcome. π§‘π§‘π§‘
The Humane Society of Richland County is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization.
Your Sunday morning sunshine. π
You're welcome. π§‘π§‘π§‘
Our two doodle dogs are enjoying the sun this morning.
They are getting MUCH needed groomings this week so they will be looking even cuter once they are all cleaned up.
Cuter? Is that even possible? π₯Ήβ₯οΈ
This is Polly, one of two doodles who came to us this week in seriously rough shape. Polly was living in a filthy basement and is COVERED in matted, dirty fur. π’
She's got a hairdo appointment next week, so stay tuned for her transformation, courtesy of our bestie Sheila at Zoom N Groom. β₯οΈ
Oh, Boise. π₯Ή
Flex was the epitome of a "hot mess" when he came to us. He was sniffling, sneezy, super sick. And he was suffering seizures.
With patience, bloodwork, and medication, we "swan-ed" this guy into the beyooootiful boy he is now...and he was adopted today. YAY!
Congratulations. We will miss you, kiddo. β₯οΈ
Your brunch bunch. β₯οΈ
Mr. Cheddar's glow-up is in progress.
He's already looking so much more handsome. π§‘π§‘π§‘
What a difference a week makes. π₯Ή
There's no room at the inn.
Adoptions are at an all time low. We have so many amazing cats and kittens available for adoption right now. We. Need. Adopters. π₯Ή
Here's a small peek at some of our current "inventory."
To see all the available adoptables, go to www. adoptourstrays.com/ouranimals/adoptables
Update: Foster found. Thanks, Kathy. β₯οΈ

Ugh. These two teeny tiny baby kittens also need foster. Mom was hit by a car and killed. They are definitely bottle babies or will need nursing mom.
Help? πππππ

Are you looking for a super sweet, affectionate, beautiful and active dog?
It's Sadie, an 85 lb big bear of a girl. Sadie is so sweet and loves walks and people and gives the best kisses.
Sadie was in a home with cats and dogs. Her owners were evicted and she and the others were left behind.
Sadie is ready for the GREAT life. Isn't she lovely?

Wicket's ruff life. π΄π΄π΄
Hope YOU were able to grab some sunshine today. π
Little man Bogie is enjoying this beautiful sunshine today. He also did some shelter inventory and found that we REALLY need the following items: Tapeworm dewormer, warming discs, nylon chews, and itch relief shampoo. Wishlist can be found here:
https://a.co/8jxPc4y
Bogie is not available just yet.
Thank you SO, SO much! :)
This adorable senior two-fer came to us yesterday after their owner passed.
Snoopy and Tracker are 12 year old super sweet beagle brothers. They've never been separated and we wouldn't think of separating them now.
Bonded pair must be adopted together. Call us at 4197744795 if interested.
Aren't they precious? πππ
Update at 1:10pm. Foster found!!! πππ

Mom was hit by car π

They don't make 'em much cuter than this. Say hi to Butternut, a two month old, sweet lil guy who came to us as a sick kitten with a severe upper respiratory infection.
Butternut is all healed up and ready to move on outta here. He will do great in any home, cause he's perfect.

A message from the desk of Office Assistant, Dorian:
Meow. ππππ
Mister Chow made a guest appearance this morning.
Lucky, lucky us. π§‘
Teeny tiny ethereal little lady Ziti was adopted today.
Congratulations!!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
A crime was committed today. Someone peed all over the clean dishes on the counter.
These are the suspects.
I think we all know who the guilty party is. π
Mr. Cheddar has the saddest eyes we've ever seen. He's also really, really sweet and slightly beat up.
Mr. Cheddar is FIV+ and a total charmer. He gives shy head bumps. He's going to available very soon, once ww get him neutered and clear up his boo boos. π§‘
He didn't tell us his name so we're going to call him Bogie. π©΅
This cute little nugget was found wandering the streets in Crestline, dirty and covered in fleas.
He doesn't have id or microchip, but we imagine someone is missing him.
Sweet but scared. If you think this is your dog, call us at 4197744795. You must provide proof of ownership.
Breakfast is served. β€οΈ
Our security guard is cuter than your security guard. π
The most improved award goes to..
PETIE!!!! π©΅π©΅π©΅
Petie was such a scared boy when he came to us, along with 33 other animals. Over the last couple of months, we have really seen his personality shine.
Petie loves kisses and cuddles and toys and people. He is honestly a big teddy bear. He came from a home with other animals so he would likely do fine with cats and other non-dominant dogs. Because of his build, he would not be great with young children. He's a big boy.
Petie is so handsome, so sweet, and is definitely a staff fave. Go to www.adoptourstrays.com/ouranimals/adoptables to apply for this very good boy. π
Safe to say that our little ginger baby Wheaties is settling in nicely in his forever home. ππ§‘
We try not to overwhelm our supporters with asks. Compassion fatigue is a real thing. And people are currently struggling financially. We get it. But...
We are experiencing a historically, epically low rate of adoptions and donations right now. Not gonna lie...it's scary for a 501c3 non profit like ours that relies entirely on donations.
Please know that, even when we don't ask, we still need. Every single day we give 150% to help the animals in need in our community. It's expensive. Worth it Γ infinity, but expensive.
If you can't donate, share, volunteer, adopt. If you CAN donate, you can do so here via paypal: www.adoptourstrays.com
Together, we are saving lives. Thank you. β₯οΈβ₯οΈβ₯οΈ
A super happy YAY day for Idris.
He was adopted today by this very sweet couple. It was love at first sight.
Congratulations!!! π©΅π©΅π©΅

Our senior hospice sweetie Precious passed away peacefully today.
Precious came to us early this summer as a neglected, very old, very hot mess. She spent the best summer of her life, this summer, in a loving home with her foster mom Barb.
Precious really started to decline rapidly last week, and today Barb made the difficult decision to end Precious' suffering and allow her the dignity she deserves.
Rest easy, sweet Precious. π
Sending peace, love, respect, and gratitude to Barb for taking on this sweet girl, knowing the time with her would be short. Barb, you are an angel among us. Thank you. πβ₯οΈ

No leg? No problem. Riggins (formerly Custard) is absolutely ROCKING the tri-pawed life. β€οΈ Best. Family. Ever. π₯Ήπ
Just a reminder that the purpose of this video is to show you the absolute preciousness. Please do not ask when and if the puppies will be available as they were just freshly hatched. When they are ready, we will let you know.π£π£π£ ----------------- Good golly this is the cutest thing we've seen in a long long time. Our foster shared a video of Jasmine, one of our recently seized dogs that had puppies in her foster home. We're pretty sure there's no greater compliment or show of trust than a dog delivering its puppies to your lap. ππππππππππ
These dogs are not ready...yet. But they are also no longer living in a basement, waiting to be "rescued." They're with us and we assure you they are in very loving hands. To be clear, this is a "before" video. We are currently dealing with coccidia and worms, which isn't unusual when so many dogs were caged together. π We're taking care of it. β€οΈ Wow, what a week. π₯Ή
Does this make you sad? Angry? Sick? We are right there with you. No dog deserves to live life like this. Please understand that our humane agents do not make the laws. We can only enforce the ones that exist. Laws in our state and specifically our community require absolutely bare minimum in terms of what qualifies for food/water/shelter. Our humane agents cannot enforce laws that do not exist. To be clear, Goddards Law is designed to increase penalties to offenders. In Richland County, it is NOT illegal for a dog to live outside. We are working to change that. Mansfield desperately needs to implement anti-tethering laws so that life on the chain can end. We are passionate about this and hope that, with the help of our community, we can make positive change in 2023. Stay tuned...β€οΈ
It's now been 4 months since we removed 17 dogs from an absolutely disgusting, condemnable basement. We still have 2 dogs left and they are patiently waiting for lives, their real lives, to begin. Boris (English Shepherd mix)and Maxwell (Lab/shepherd mix) are available now. To see their complete profiles and photos, go to www.adoptourstrays.com/ouranimals/adoptables This is a video of the conditions they were found in. These images still haunt us. π
Fir your viewing pleasure: We could watch this for hours, but here is 17 seconds of David watching a battery powered butterfly go in circles. π¦ You're welcome. π
Yes, it makes us sad too. Wobbles and Bobbles are our dynamic duo boys with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. They have a very severe case of it which seriously affects their mobility. This condition is caused by an underdeveloped cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls movement. They are tipsy and topsy turvy but also very, very resourceful. They can use a litterbox and eat on their own - BUT it will take a very, very, VERY special person or family to adopt these two. Minor modifications in home will be needed (baby gates to keep them from stairs so they don't hurt themselves). CH babies can lead long, full lives. These two deserve it. They are the sweetest littlest guys and they just want love. β€ Interested or know someone who might be? Please have them call us at 419-774-4795 or fill out an application directly one at www.adoptourstrays.com/ouranimals/adoptables. We are in Ontario, Ohio and would drive just about anywhere to help them find the perfect home.
We are profoundly grateful to Richland County Foundation for the grant funding to make this video that tells our story and DRM Productions for telling it so perfectly. Along with every other business, 501c3 non-profits like ours are currently struggling with funding. We hope you will consider supporting us in any way you can: Donate money or supplies, adopt a new best friend, or volunteer your time and talents. We need you. π₯° www.adoptourstrays.com/support-us
