Arlington-Mansfield Dog Boarding

Arlington-Mansfield Dog Boarding I'm an experienced owner, foster mom, and dog care pro. I volunteer with Shelter2Rescue Coalition, part of the No Kill Coalition. No children or cats.
(46)

I'm a volunteer, foster mentor, and trainer for Schnauzer Rescue of Texas, Doodle rescue, Pooch Savers, TexasGSP, Cody's Friends Rescue, and Brittany rescue (BRIT). I also do home visits for other rescues in Tarrant/Johnson counties. I have 2 friendly foster failures. I work at home --- doing dog care FULL TIME. I am the activities director, steward/concierge, and sleep fairy at bedtime. I offer a

fun and safe host home for your dogs when you're on vacation or traveling for work, and devoted care for seniors/special needs who require extra attention. I’m located off of Hwy 287 and Turner Warnell, on the Arlington/Mansfield border, in a quiet, low-traffic subdivision. Seniors & meds ...
I can accommodate dogs who are medically fragile and/or senior. I had flood lights installed in my back yard to help seniors with failing eyesight. Inside, I have plug-in night lights at floor level. No extra charge for meds or additional care; after all, at some point we're all falling apart. Special needs dogs who prefer privacy and need more monitoring enjoy the "senior center" that can be customized for the dog's needs and preferences. Health and safety ...
Small dogs never go potty in the back yard without me or my dogs as es**rt. Guests don't have access to an external door. My 6' privacy fence is new, regularly inspected, and the perimeter is lined with stone. I need shot records for every dog in my care. Guests are spayed/neutered, housebroken, and flea- and tick-free when dropped off. For the peace of the pack, guests cannot be aggressive, have separation anxiety, or be nonstop barkers. My co-hosts
Marie was 4 yo when I adopted her from TexasGSP in 2017. She’ll let any dog eat out of her bowl, is completely nonreactive, and serves as therapist to foster dogs and first-time guests. She’s the leader of the couch potato gang but will play ring-around-the-pergola upon request. Shayna was a pregnant stray who had puppies in a shelter served by Shelter2Rescue. I foster failed her in December of 2014. She loves the tiniest of dogs, and they love playing and cuddling with her. Her special talent is showing our first-time guests where to p*e and poo and serving as a cushion for her tiny friends. She thinks I board dogs just for her. Me ---

Candi ---
I’m barely out of puppyhood and kinda small for an adult—a mere 33 pounds. I don’t know how I survived being alone out in the boonies cause I love people and try so hard to communicate.
I’m sensitive and eager to please, so I learn routine easily. I watched my foster sibling go to do the back door for a potty break, and I immediately started doing that. She waits for permission to go to her bowl to eat meals, and I learned that too!
My foster home is a mish-mash of dogs in/out, and I love them all. I love fluffy floor beds and excel at cuddling. My senior foster sister spends a lot of time in her bed, and was kinda “HUH??” when I joined her in bed and wrapped myself around her. And then she decided she LOVED that, and I do it all the time now. I even got her to do zoomies with me! Foster mom said she hasn’t moved that quick in years, and started her on joint supplements! LOL
I have a special talent for getting dogs to play with me, and I share toys!
When I go on a walk in the neighborhood, I want to visit all the kids on the street and in our playground. I want to hug all the neighbors.
I come when called, but if I see a squirrel I forget my name. Oops.
I am Velcro. I want to touch my foster mom all the time. I stand between her and the dishwasher, and between her legs and the bathroom sink. I do not like the smell of toothpaste, but I don’t want her to be lonely. I’m not allowed on the furniture, but when mom is relaxing in a chair I’ll put a paw on her leg. I like to rub her legs just like a cat. Speaking of …
I haven’t been around cats but I’d definitely want to play and/or cuddle with them if my new home has a previous feline tenant.
I love watching TV.
I love to learn!
I can sit/down/up/shake.
I can jump through a hoop, AND find foster mom's keys and cell phone.
Foster mom says I’m brilliant! I’m observant and focused.
I go into my crate for treats (I’ll even do a tap dance while waiting), and I sleep in my crate.
I wait for permission to go to my food bowl.
I walk well on a leash and am not a barker, BUT if another dog being walked is grumbly, I will reply with my own grumbles.
I’d like a family who will include me. I’d maybe like gentle kids and another submissive dog. If my new people work at home …. Perfect.
Am I perfect? Well, this isn’t a flaw, just an FYI.
I needed time to settle in to my foster home. I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was stressed and agitated. I needed to be left alone for about a week to decompress before I initiated cuddles with my foster mom.
You can text foster mom with questions … 817 691 4503. I may be the one finding her phone when it beeps 😊

Candice is a sweet Labrador/Border Collie mix. She's likely fully grown at 35 lbs. We like to think of her as a pocket lab. All the great qualities of a Lab mix in a small package.

Great with other dogs and kids !

Candice is in a foster home with other dogs. She enjoys playing, zoomies, and naps.

Easy to train ... She is super smart, focused, and learns routines easily, which is what you'd expect from a lab/border collie mix.

She is people friendly, and generally a great little pup and just the right size for any home.

Our application is found at www.shelter2rescue.org
Candice is spayed, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm negative and microchipped.
