🐾 THRESHOLD MANNERS 🐾
I practice this with all of my board and trains! It’s important to implement with your dog because it creates respect from the dog, and they look to you for guidance. It also helps create a good sense of impulse control, and teaches the dog they don’t get to just run off and get what they want. This also will build engagement between you and your dog because they will start looking to you when they’re unsure or don’t know what is expected of them. Not only do I ask them to wait, but they have to be quiet and not sniffing around, they need to patiently wait quietly and give me their attention, and then they get released to go to all the fun things!
Little time lapse of Floyd working on a durational place command. This is our first “long” place session.
Here is a second video of the crate training process!
Quick little voice over of part of a training session with Miss Lucy! Starting our foundation and basics, now that we’ve built a bit of a relationship and worked on our crate manners and some door manners!

CRATE TRAINING:
If you can only practice one thing with your puppy, practice this! I will be posting a multi part series on here with steps of how to properly acclimate your puppy or dog to a crate! This will make help with anxiety, stressful situations, and teaching your dog to mentally relax. This isn’t the cure all for all of that but it is a major part of it, along with multiple other steps. You can go to our page to watch the full video!

In the two clips, you'll see me working with my personal dog George. I recently got George back in December. When I got him he had zero manners and was extremely excitable when he saw other people and dogs. You will see me working on him becoming more neutral when he sees people we are working in front of a very busy store and my goal here was for him to look at the people, and then look back at me for guidance.Which he did beautifully, was very proud of him, and we kept this session very short. He has come a long way in a very short time! #dogtraining #dogobedience #bayareadogtraining
