We have been receiving a lot of questions as to when our next rabies clinic is…. And it’s time! 🤗

$10 Rabies Vaccinations! 💉
Our rabies clinic starts February 17th - February 21st, 2025 !
8:30am - 5:00pm (we close 1-2 every day for lunch).

Make sure to spread the word and we hope to see you there. 😊

UPDATE: EVERYONE HAS BEEN ADOPTED

We have five adorable 8 week old puppies that will become available for adoption starting tomorrow at 11 A.M! There is only male and he is black/tan the rest are females. Their mom is listed on our website under “Lulu.” We do not know her mix so please feel free to give it your best guess! We have no idea what their dad was as she was brought into our care with day old puppies. If you are interested in a puppy please visit our facility tomorrow at 11 A.M located at 378 Airport RD in Manteo! 🥰🐶🦴🐾

Meet Ella! This incredibly sweet girl is a 5 year old Seal Point Tabby. Sadly she was brought into our care after her owner passed away. Ella was declawed on her front paws so she would need to be an indoor cat only. She follows you around like a pup, gets along with other animals, and can never have enough back scratches and belly rubs. If you are interested in Ella please come by the shelter during our adoption hours or email our Cat Manager at [email protected] 😻🐈‍⬛💗

It’s a new year, which means it’s time to renew your dog licenses! 🐕

If you purchase your dog license by the end of January, the fee for a fixed dog is $10 and for an intact (not spayed/neutered) is $25.
Starting February 1st prices will increase so get your licenses before the month ends!

Here are a couple great reasons to license your dog:
🐾 It is Dare County Law
🦴 It proves your dog is rabies vaccinated
🐾 Your dog has a better chance of being returned home if lost
🦴 It’s cheap
🐾 It’s quick and easy
🦴 The fees help support the shelter!

It is required for all Dare County Residents to license their dog.

You can get a dog license directly at our facility at 378 Airport Road, Manteo, NC. All you need is proof of rabies vaccination.

You can also get a dog license right from your home! Head on over to our website and you can fill out the application and pay right online! https://www.obxspca.org/dog-license/

‘Tis the Season…. For puppies 😅
Lately we have been getting an influx of puppies/mom dogs! These cuties all eat a LOT of food when they start weaning off of mom. The problem is, we have no wet puppy food and are very low on dry puppy food 😢. These pups will be starting to eat puppy food within the next couple weeks! Please consider donating wet and/or dry puppy food ❤️💚 Our staff, the puppies and the mom dogs all appreciate any donations 🥰

Meet Frosty! This handsome boy was surrendered into our care due to no fault of his own. He has been in the same home since he was 7 weeks old but now that he is 4 months old the family felt he was becoming too energetic with their small child. Although he adores kids and is great with other animals he just wasn’t getting enough attention making him very excited when it was time to play! Frosty is house trained, loves toys, and walks great on the leash. We are sad Frosty was surrendered into our care right here before the holidays but are hopeful he will find the forever home he deserves soon! We were told Frosty is a Husty/Lab mix. If you have another dog and are interested in Frosty please call the shelter to schedule a meet and greet! Let’s work together to find Frosty a family again 🥹🐶🐾☃️🎾

Our pet of the week this week is Kaia! This sweet girl is around 2 years old and has been at our shelter for almost a year! Meet our pet of the week, Finny! 💜 Finny is around one year old and is ready to go on all the adventures! 🤗 She is super sweet, loves going for walks and to play! Candy can be a little slow to warm up but once she does she is the sweetest girl! Her personality has really start to come out lately and we are loving it!
