๐ฑ Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is serious, but thankfully rare. Only a small percentage of cats exposed to the virus that causes FIP ever develop symptoms.
Watch for signs like a persistent fever, weight loss, loss of appetite, or fluid buildup in the abdomen or chest. Diagnosing FIP can be challenging, so early veterinary care is especially important.
While FIP was once almost always fatal, newer antiviral treatments mean some cats can now live longer and more comfortably with prompt intervention. ๐
