I may be a little on the thin side right now (I’m like the “before” photo in a pet nutrition commercial), but don't let that fool you—I am a leader in cuddles, headbutts, and enthusiastic chirping about absolutely nothing. You’ll find me particularly skilled in the art of excessive purring and sitting directly on top of your laptop when you’re trying to get work done. Priorities.
I’m very friendly, and my social skills are on point.

I'm the cat who’s always ready for a chat, especially when there's food involved (and frankly, that’s most of the time). While I may need to bulk up a bit, my heart is big, my purr is loud, and I am ready to give you all the love I’ve been saving up.

Well, howdy there, future human!
The name’s Bark Twain, and yes, that’s a name with serious literary pedigree. I’m a small Pomeranian with big dreams—and by big dreams, I mean endless treats, belly rubs, and the occasional heroic adventure involving squirrels (that I’ve bravely chased away from my yard, of course).

I’ve been through some stuff—I mean, I was hit by a car, but don’t you worry, I’m fine. A little shaken, sure, but still looking sharp and as fluffy as a cloud on a cotton candy farm. The only thing that got really hit was my confidence around things like loud noises and... the occasional vacuum. But once I get to know you? I’m all about the bark Twain lifestyle: loud, proud, and ready to make some noise (especially when the doorbell rings or when it’s treat time).

I can be a bit skittish at first—what can I say? I take a little while to warm up, but once I trust you, I’ll be your best buddy. I’ll follow you around, yap about my day, and maybe even snuggle up for some Netflix time (I’m partial to shows with lots of action and snacks, just FYI).

If you’re looking for a tiny, vocal, adventurous little guy who’s got a big heart and even bigger opinions, I’m your dog. So what do you say, future best friend? Let’s get this Bark Twain story started!

Greetings, mere mortals! I am Shylock Purrington, but you may call me "Sir" if you're feeling formal. I was once a mysterious stray, prowling the streets with only my wits and my sharp claws to keep me company. But now, I’ve entered a new chapter—one that involves cuddles, treats, and—most importantly—toys. When I first arrived at the shelter, I’ll admit, I was a bit... skeptical. I mean, can you blame me? But after a bit of time and some delicious snacks, I realized this place isn’t half bad.

Now, I’m all about playtime, especially when that tantalizing feather toy is involved. It’s my toy, and I shall conquer it. When I’m not showing that feather who’s boss, I’m busy being friendly, affectionate, and ridiculously charming. My foster home will be blessed with my presence, so if you’re looking for a sleek, dashing, toy-hunting machine who’ll keep your lap warm and your heart entertained, I’m your guy. Ashen Kutcher (6716) 2 year old, intact male.

Hello, humans. My name is Ashen Kutcher. Yes, I know what you're thinking—“Isn’t that a human name?” and yes, I am aware it’s an unusual name for a cat, but I’m an individual, okay? Let me start by saying that I’ve had a rough time lately, and it’s made me a little... cautious. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was scared, and I think you can understand why—loud noises, unfamiliar faces, and way too many other animals who wouldn’t stop staring at me. Naturally, I did what any self-respecting cat would do: I shut down and decided to observe from the safety of my corner.

But, dear humans, I’m not always like this! Underneath my shell, there’s a cat who craves the quiet comfort of a home—preferably one with a cozy spot to curl up and a patient, understanding human (preferably with snacks) who can give me the time I need to feel safe again. Once I trust you, you’ll see my true colors—soft purrs, gentle affection, and maybe even some sweet head bumps. I just need a little space to come out of my shell, so if you’ve got a quiet, peaceful home where I can decompress and feel safe, I’d be ever so grateful. I promise, once I’m comfortable, I’ll show you the best version of me.

Can you help? It’s the only way we can get large breed dogs placed in rescue right now.

Animals at PUPS are in urgent need of your help.

As you may know, veterinary care costs have skyrocketed, making it harder for rescues to help animals in need at PUPS. In the Twin Cities, it’s become increasingly difficult to secure veterinary appointments, especially for critical procedures like spay/neuter surgeries. Unfortunately, without these surgeries, many of our precious animals can't get the chance to go to rescue, where they can begin the search for their forever homes.

Thanks to Fur-Ever Home Rescue, we have access to discounted spay/neuter appointments, but we need your donations to make it possible. Every dollar raised will go directly to providing these essential surgeries for animals currently waiting at the local impound. Without these funds, they may remain stuck at the pound, until they mentally crack.

Greetings, mere humans! I am Diaval, the 10-month-old feline extraordinaire. I’m sleek, I’m mysterious, and my silky black coat? Yeah, it’s as smooth as my moves when I sneak up on you (but don’t worry, I’ll only "sneak" if there’s a treat involved). You’ll notice my striking yellow eyes—clearly, I was blessed with the gaze of a cat who knows he’s a total catch. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a cat who could hypnotize you into giving belly rubs, well, your dream is about to come true.

But let’s talk about these paws for a second. They’re big. I mean, who needs paws this big, right? Me, obviously! They’re perfect for giving high-fives, knocking things off counters (oops, sorry about that), and impressively sprawling out on your lap like the majestic creature I am.

I’m playful, affectionate, and will definitely make sure you know I’m around, whether it's by giving you a little headbutt or chasing after that feather toy. When I’m not being the life of the party, I’ll happily curl up next to you, purring contentedly, just waiting for my next round of chin scratches.

Hello, humans! I’m Masquerade—don’t be fooled by my fancy “mask,” I’m just a big, soft, sweet boy looking for a place to call home. I know, I look like I’m ready to star in a superhero movie, but really, my superpower is being incredibly gentle. My "tough guy" appearance might suggest I’m all bark and no belly rubs, but I’m actually just a giant teddy bear who’s totally obsessed with cuddles.

Right now, I’m stuck in this shelter thing, and it’s okay, I guess, but… the food is meh, the floors are cold, and my bed? It’s not a couch, which is definitely where I want to be. I mean, who wouldn’t want to snuggle up and watch Netflix with me? I’ll keep your feet warm and your heart full of love, promise!

I’m a big guy with a big heart, so if you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s as gentle as he is huge, then look no further. I might be sad in here, but I know there’s a perfect spot on your couch waiting for me. Just imagine me, all snuggled up, mask on (not really), and ready to love you unconditionally. PLEASE READ! Herbo is very scared at the pound. He is an intact male. He has not been able to be dog tested. Unfortunately the pound is super stressful when it's full, so that is not helping this guy. Definitely recommend no kids, experienced foster, will need a two week shut down, and evaluate from there.

Please be sure to support organizations who are making a difference to our local animals in need. Especially BIG THANK YOU to Heading Home K-9 for helping so many dogs and Ruff Start Rescue for helping so many cats! Plus I want to call out Fur-Ever Home Rescue for helping get some of the longtimer PUPS animals spayed/neutered before they are pulled and hosting community vaccination clinics at PUPS. And to Inspire & Flourish for always helping with animal transports, especially for those vet appointments, helping to raise funds and assisting with the vaccination clinics.
