World Rabies Day
September 28 is World Rabies Day, a global health observance started in 2007 to raise awareness about the world’s deadliest infectious disease and bring together partners to enhance prevention and control efforts worldwide.
All mammals are susceptible to rabies!
Rabies is a deadly disease caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system. Once the outward signs of the disease appear, rabies is fatal.
Rabies remains a major concern worldwide, killing tens of thousands of people every year. Almost all of these deaths are due to rabies transmitted by dogs in countries where dog vaccination programs are not sufficiently developed to stop the spread of the virus.
In the United States, it's not unusual for one to two people to die annually. Among animals, there were more than 3,600 reported cases of rabies in the U.S. in 2021.
You can help prevent rabies infections by vaccinating your animals and keeping them away from wildlife that can spread the disease. Rabies is 100% preventable. The best way to protect yourself, your family, and your pets is to keep dogs and cats up to date on their rabies vaccinations.

July is #LostPetPreventionMonth. Remember that a lost pet has a better chance of being returned home if they always wear a collar and an ID tag with your name and contact information. Make sure to take measures to keep your pets safely with you!
Wishing all our pet parents a happy and safe 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Keep tails wagging and purrs going strong, by ensuring your pet is kept secure and calm during fireworks and festivities!
Wishing all our pets and pet parents a happy and reflective Canada Day! 🇨🇦

April is National Heartworm ❤️ Awareness Month
What is Heartworm disease❓❓
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body. Heartworm disease affects dogs, cats and ferrets, but heartworms also live in other mammal species, including wolves, coyotes, foxes, sea lions and—in rare instances—humans. Because wild species such as foxes and coyotes live in proximity to many urban areas, they are considered important carriers of the disease.
Ask us how you can protect your pets from this deadly disease.
