I’ll start us off! This is Eira, my personal pet. This is after her spay when she was still groggy and she shoved her lip up against the bars. We all had a good laugh before helping her fix it!

Meet the staff Monday!

Ron Barringham, DVM graduated from the Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and completed a surgical internship in 2009. Dr. Barringham joined the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley team in 2023.
A native of Washington State, “Dr. B” enjoys the outdoors, is an avid reader and humor enthusiast, an animal lover and skilled handyman. He has traveled extensively throughout Western Europe and looks forward to future world travel opportunities.
To his family’s delight, he also knows his way around a kitchen (his “elephant ears” are unparalleled). A devoted family man, he and his wife live in Graham with daughters Li and Helena, three dogs, too many cats to count, three horses and a goat. Dr B’s primary area of interest is in orthopedic surgery.

URGENT scam Alert!! A Washington state veterinary clinic has received four inquiries from non-clients within the last 24 hours, all of whom had been contacted by an individual claiming to represent the clinic. This individual informs them that their missing cat has been found, is in critical condition, and requires immediate life-saving surgery. He provides graphic descriptions of the cat’s condition and requests that funds be sent via a cash app, while also providing the clinic’s address and phone number for verification purposes. Fortunately, all four individuals have contacted the clinic to confirm the authenticity of the claim and have not sent any funds. A police report has been filed, and they wish to share this information in case others receive similar calls. All four cats had been reported missing within the last year through online platforms.The incidents appear to be concentrated in the Woodinville/Redmond area. If you receive a similar call, please contact the clinic at their main number to verify its legitimacy.

We love the warmth of summer, but at what temperature does it become excessively hot for your pets? Please refrain from leaving your pet or children in the car during hot weather, even for brief errands.

Check how hot the pavement is before you take your pup for their daily walk. If it’s going to be hot we would suggest walking them in the early morning or later evening.

Please ensure your pets have easy access to fresh water and shade all day, whether they are indoors or outdoors.

And remember to have fun in this sun!

Your weekly reminder: Refrain from leaving dogs, children, or living beings in a vehicle for any duration, as interior temperatures can escalate rapidly to hazardous levels. When possible, leave pets at home if they cannot accompany you into your destination.
