🐔 Natural Behavior Changes🐔

🐤Molting Season (still ongoing or wrapping up)
Many chickens molt (shed and regrow feathers) in the fall, often starting in late September or October and continuing into November.

🐣Egg production drops or stops as energy goes into growing new feathers.
Shorter daylight hours mean fewer eggs — hens need about 14–16 hours of light daily to lay consistently.

🚨November often marks the start of the “slow season” for eggs unless supplemental light is added.

🐓Increased Roosting Time
Chickens go to bed earlier as days get shorter. You’ll notice them heading to the coop well before sunset.
