Happy Thanksgiving! We have SO much to be for today! 🙏 Enjoy this special of just a few of the 1700+ animals we are for. Each one has made a special impact in our lives. ❤️ Thank you to the wonderful families that opened their hearts and homes to provide these cats and dogs a happy life!

We may be closed for Thanksgiving, but don’t worry — our little “turkeys” 🦃 (aka the adoptable cats and dogs) will be getting plenty of love, snacks, and snuggles from volunteers!

Enjoy your holiday, and then come see us on Black Friday —because on Friday, these turkeys will be ready to WOBBLE out and meet their forever families.🐾❤️

Some transports just hit different!
These two kitties are the last cats to find placement from a hoarding case in August. Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control removed more than 60 cats from one residence.

These 2 never even had names. Just numbers. C-39 and C-48
Finding placement was a HUGE undertaking by SO many people

Vicente “Chente”- 7yr old male chihuahua mix (13lbs)

🐶Chente may be a 7-year-old chihuahua, but don’t let the “older gentleman” label fool you — he’s got just enough cheeky charm to keep life interesting. Think of him as the perfect mix of refined and roguish: he’ll melt into your lap for a cuddle one minute and give you a sly side-eye the next, just to remind you he’s still got personality to spare.

🐶At 13 pounds, Chente is the ideal size for companionship without being underfoot (unless, of course, he’s following you around to make sure you’re not doing anything fun without him). His idea of a perfect day? A sunny nap spot, a comfy couch for snuggling, and plenty of quality time with his favorite people — because while Chente appreciates life’s simple pleasures, he also knows they’re best enjoyed together.

🐶Meet Eugene—a distinguished gentleman whose name alone tells you he probably uses coasters, enjoys the finer things in life, and has absolutely earned the right to nap wherever he pleases. At 12 years old and 14 pounds, Eugene is officially in his golden era… and he fully intends to shine.

Sparrow- 1yr old male chihuahua mix (12lbs)

🐶Meet Sparrow—a tiny bird of a dog with a much bigger heart than he lets on at first. At just 1 year old and 12 pounds, this chihuahua mix has mastered the art of the soft launch. He may start off shy, quietly observing like a feathery little wallflower, but give him a moment and he’ll flutter right into your lap… and your life.

🎅✨ SLAY, GURL, SLAY! ✨🎅

Emily has officially taken over Santa’s sleigh… and honestly? We don’t think he’s getting it back. This chonky holiday diva planted herself right in the driver’s seat and declared it her season now.

With hips that jingle and a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly, Emily is ready to SLEIGH all the way into your heart. 💁‍♀️🎄💅

She may not deliver toys, but she will deliver attitude, cuddles, and possibly a little extra fluff to your Christmas décor.
