LIVE sea turtle release from Cape Canaveral National Seashore 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🌊🩵😊! Bear, Beliga, Cow, Dingo, Lynx, and Polliwog, 6 juvenile Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles treated at The Turtle Hospital for cold stunning returned to their ocean home today! They were part of the group of 20 Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles transferred from New England on December 12, 2024. Just keep swimming little ones! Thank you for your support!

Six juvenile Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles who were transferred to The Turtle Hospital from New England on December 12 have been rehabilitated and are back in good health! 🐢❤️ Today, we transported them on the first leg of their journey to be released. The young reptiles are having a sleepover at the Brevard Zoo tonight where they are tucked in and will be released off Cape Canaveral’s seashore tomorrow. 🏝️🌊.

An update on the cold stun Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles! 🐢❄️

Lots of footage from the Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle exams yesterday! 🧐🐢

During the sea turtle examinations, Dr. Terry looks at their eyes and mouth, then palpates the joints to see if they are swollen. He’ll also check their skin for lesions. 👨‍⚕️

We’ll do an X-ray to check their lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and bones, plus check their blood chemistry. 🩻

Stay tuned! Some of these Kemp’s Ridleys may be getting their swimming papers for release soon! 🌊

Harlow update: Harlow’s satellite transmitter tag has not tracked since December 29th. We have been communicating with the satellite tag experts and they asked if Harlow liked to go under things. Harlow’s favorite place in her rehab pool was with her head tucked inside the large PVC pipe that was in her tank for enrichment. They think Harlow most likely tucked under a reef to scratch her back and rest…and broke the antenna on her tracking tag to the point that it is no longer tracking. Harlow was strong and healthy when she was released on December 21st and we have no reason to believe she is not doing well at sea. Thank you for caring and for all of your support for Harlow. 🐢🌊💙.

“Wednesday”, a juvenile green sea turtle returned to her ocean home today, on Wednesday, New Year’s Day 🎉🐢🌊💙🥰!! This is something to celebrate and a perfect start to 2025! A huge thank you to Mike Papish and Sundance WaterSports for rescuing Wednesday and for giving her a ride back to her ocean home today! And for the incredible video and images Mike 💖.
