I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the passing of our friend, William Fuccillo Sr. You see, his lovely wife Cindy brought their dog to Wags for a stay. To say the dog was royally spoiled would be an understatement. It didn’t take long for Billy, Cindy, and Billy Jr. to become family to us and we to them. It happens all the time at Wags. Over the years our relationship grew with many shared meals and many, many vacations for their baby at Wags. Billy would stop in the shop to visit with Carmen and the boys and anyone else that came through our door. He surprised many of our guest’s families by being the doorman, often offering to sell them a dog, usually a HUGE one! We witnessed a big, burly, NYS Trooper turn into a kid when he got to meet his hero inside of Wags. It was hysterical!
To those that knew Billy, he really wasn’t the guy you saw on T.V., but a kind, funny, smart, generous teddy bear. He had a heart of gold and just wanted people to be happy. He did SO MUCH for so many and never looked for anything in return. He also wasn’t one to toot his own horn. It wasn’t his style. Billy was known to be out for dinner only to end up picking up the check for those around him without them knowing. Again, he just enjoyed doing it, just because. It was a glorious thing to witness! Cindy texted me yesterday morning to let me know that he was gone. He had been battling an illness for a while. Our hearts are broken. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to our dear Cindy and to Billy Jr. and their furry faced companion as well. This is a huge loss for Central New York and Florida, really any place Billy landed.
May Billy ride with the angels and be free of illness. May he rest well and know that his was a life well lived. God Speed Sir. We love you and will miss you.
With love,
Carmen, Annie, CJ, Tasha, and Rocco, Sammy and Mariah.
