A few dog and cat Halloween safety tips🐈‍⬛:

~🐾 Keep all candy out of reach of any dogs and cats.

~🐾 Make sure you have your cat/dog in a secure area in your home when answering the door for trick or treaters. This helps prevent any escape attempts and helps reassure kids who may be afraid of dogs or cats.

A day of awareness for all species and the very real challenges they face- poaching, climate change, habitat destruction, and pollution just to name a few. Take 5 minutes and google one of those terms with the word “wildlife” and read what comes up. Look at the photos that appear.
We need to do more. We need to do better.

Fireworks season is upon us! Please remember that some pets are more sensitive than others when it comes to loud noise or flashes of light. Dogs, cats, and even horses are at risk when it comes to fireworks.

Here are a few helpful tips to get through the 4th safe and sound:
~Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with correct ID tags on them.
~Turn the tv or radio on to help mask fireworks noise.
~Try a calming supplement or veterinarian prescribed medication.
~Keep curtains closed to block out the flashing lights.
~Horses: tuck them into the barn, radio on, and with plenty of hay for the evening.
~Horses: breakaway halter on with ID tag containing correct contact information in case they bolt.

The loud noises can cause many dogs to instinctively run.

To help keep them calm, we suggest keeping your pets indoors in a familiar room and playing soothing music to mask the sound of fireworks, especially if they're nearby.
