Rehoming one of our pups from Reba X Enzo
Meet Ike, also known as Eisenhower.
He is a 4 year old, neutered, Blue Merle Australian Shepherd.
Ike is 50 + pounds of lovable awkwardness. He is anxious. Overeats. Doesn’t like to be outside unless he sees a human watching. Forcefully makes you pet him by sitting on your feet and not letting you move.
Ike has been around children of all ages, other dogs, and poultry. He plays well with others but would prefer to be the center of his humans attention.
Ideal placement would be in a home with no pets, no children, and a female handler.

The last 8 weeks have flown by!!

Can you believe these guys are already 8 weeks this weekend!

Everyone is developing such awesome little personalities already.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of our little babies!

A few remaining. They’re old enough to start going home Sunday, but we’ll happily keep them until Christmas Eve for the perfect surprise.

Our pups are introduced to kids from the very beginning.

Raising our dogs/puppies in the home around our family is very important to us! A kennel is no place for a dog. Especially if you want them to be accustomed to life in the house from day one.

Another week has flown by!!

In just two short weeks these pups are going to start heading to their new families!

Every pup must be at least 8 weeks old before they leave our nest. Often times we keep them a little longer.
Contrary to popular myth, it is not imperative to get a puppy at 8 weeks for “bonding”.
While it is true that the most critical socialization period is from 6-12 weeks; breeders, mom, and litter mates all take an active part in the socialization process.
Our puppies are all raised in our home and around our family.
They are exposed daily to sounds, sights and smells of a house, toddlers in the face, getting knocked down by older dogs, guests, cats, chickens, ducks, neighbors, you name it they’ve probably seen it 😂.
So whether it’s in two weeks or four, we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for our little babies!

We took advantage of the “warm” weather yesterday and gave them some outside time.

Only a few weeks left and they start going home to their new people.

Our gods/goddesses litter is growing up so quick!

We got eyes open and we’re walking around!

All the families on our waitlist have made picks.

We have a few babies that are still looking for their people.

Puppies will be 8 weeks and ready to leave us on December 10th!
As always, we are more than willing to hold on to puppies for a couple extra weeks if you’re looking for the perfect gift under the tree this year. A little more time with mom is never a bad thing.

Finally posting the debut of our fall 2023 litter!

Keeping with tradition of themed names, we present the Gods and Goddesses litter.

Instead of just going down the list of well known Greek mythology names we decided to search for lesser known figures from a variety of ancient cultures.

AND…. to make it really fun…. we’re not listing male or female on this post! If you don’t already know gender based on the name you’ll have to do some independent research 😊.

Guess what?!?!
We’re back!!!

Over the past year we’ve experienced some personal loss, but also some amazing new changes.

At our core we are still the same. A hardworking family with a passion for watching things grow. Whether it be our chickens, our dogs, our kids, or our families with whom we place puppies.

This will be the one and only litter of 2023. Our dogs are first and foremost our family pets. We still have the original 3. Enzo our beloved patriarch, Reba (who is retired) the queen of the castle, and Ruby (current dam) our hot little mama.

We will be posting an official birth announcement with pictures of all 7 new arrivals soon. Once we are done making our way through the waitlist we will be taking new inquiries.

It’s finally warming back up in the Midwest today!

After last weekend and this week’s freezing temperatures, 70 degrees today feels like a heat wave!!

Our handsome little boy Slate here is ready for some fun in the sun and that lake life.

Luckily he’s spoiled rotten and his mom takes him to her lake house and kayaking practically every weekend during the summer.

Summer can’t come soon enough in our opinion. We love to be outside and watch things grow!

It’s Bindie!!

Look how much this sweet girl has grown!!

She is from Ruby’s first litter and boy is she a spitting image of her mama.

Bindie had one job when she went with her new family and that was to mend her new mama’s broken heart after the loss of her beloved husky/Aussie mix.

And Bindie is killing it!! She’s fulfilling her job duties and then some!

The loss of a pet is never easy, but when you have a perfect little girl like this one to warm your heart it’s a little less painful.

Happy Good Friday!!

Anyone else dying Easter Eggs tonight?!?

Our family tradition is to dye eggs on Good Friday and then hide them, along with some specially filled plastic ones, for our kids to find Easter morning.

We’re hoping for some sun shine this weekend to dry up all the rain!
Our yard is completely under water……which is the funest thing ever with dogs……. Not! 🤪

Tri Tuesday!!

He’s got some tending to do this summer! We ran in to his mama at the feed store and she shared with us that they added 200 more head of laying hens to the flock this year.

Just when Quigs thought he was done with the snow.…… Wisconsin weather said Aprils Fools!

Hope all you Northwoods folks are keeping warm up there!

And to the rest of the Midwest still reeling from the tornadoes/severe weather we hope you are all safe and sound.

Our thoughts and well wishes also go out to all the victims at the Apollo theater last night. We live 10 minutes from there so it’s been on our minds pretty heavily. Though it could of happened regardless, we can’t help but wonder how much the deteriorating infrastructure, that plagues so many small Midwest towns, contributed to the tragedy.

Anyone else feel like this week just keeps draggin’ on?

At least we’re over halfway to the weekend though!

We had a family date night on Sunday. We went to see the amazing Bert Kreischer (Comedian) live and boy did he put on a show!!

It feels like we’ve been playing ”catch up” on sleep ever since, but it was more than worth it!

It’s that time of year again at the homestead!

Not only do I incessantly buy chickens every time we’re getting feed, but we also are about to incubate some of our own again in the next few weeks.
