⭐️HOW BOUT THIS FELLA⭐️
⭐️HOW BOUT THIS FELLA⭐️
He is truly a wonderful horse! He possesses the true gelding qualities many people love. Big puppy dog personality and a beautiful ride! It can’t get better than that.
Cowboy will be consigned and cataloged to Schmitty’s Sale Barn for their June 14 & 15 sale in Aplington Iowa. Come to the sale and watch him ride around or watch and bid online. This gelding is going to make a fantastic show mount for someone!
I am really excited for this duo, Eve Dorris riding Rob Bohnsack’s 2 yr old filly Nevaeh. I’m looking forward to working with them as a team and seeing what all they can get accomplished in this up coming year!
Who needs a Koozie for their beer? 🍻
✨For your consideration, Koozie is a 5 yr old painted John mule who is bound to get you noticed where ever you go. He stands at 14.2 hh. He has the best disposition and is always first to the gate to greet you. Koozie is bottom of the pecking order out of 3 mares, and does not mind being off on his own. I have trail rode Koozie on various trails around eastern iowa. He crosses water, metal bridges, logs, bushes, brush and he takes the hills like a champ. I’ve rode him off on his own and in groups of people and THIS MULE LOVES TO TRAIL RIDE!
✨He can still be green to new things but with patience he catches on extreamly quick and has NEVER offered to kick, strike, rear, or buck with me under saddle. He has a great solid start to him and is ready to be completely finished out your way. Koozie is the type of mule to do anything for his person and I’m hoping he will find his forever companion as he bonds quickly. He is up to date on all his vaccines, coggins, teeth and farrier. Koozie stays sound barefoot. I am listing him now but he will not be available for pick up until after the Clark County Mule Fest in Kahoka MO September 17th. Come out take a look watch him ride in Kahoka or come see him in Muscatine Iowa at the barn. If I could keep every project I buy he would stay 100%
High 4 figures
Still wondering why you should buy him? Because who doesn’t need a “Koozie” for their beer while out on the trails. 🍻
Training horses is not black & white. No day will be the same when you work with living breathing beings who have their own minds and personalities.
I often get asked how long a training session is. The answer is simple, not an easy answer, but simple.
How ever long the horse needs it to be on that day.
I’ve been keeping my numbers small and this allows me to listen to each horse and give them what they need to be successful each day.
Some days a horse will come out and retain all the new things I’ve thrown at it throughout the week and ride beautifully… for 15 mins.
Sometimes a horse starts out amazing and looses his focus at the 30 min mark.
Note taken. SLOW DOWN, back track and find common ground with the horse. A little bit of improvement is better than a lot of fighting and sour horses.
Sometimes a horse has been staying consitant and it is time to teach him something new. This can lead to a 45-60 min training session. If there is a good note there to end on… END ON IT. No matter how small.
Most days horses are improving in small increments. These are things so small that the average eye may not notice. As the trainer I can feel every difference good and bad going on underneath me or infront of me. Take the good days and reward. Don’t push a young horse to fast because GREED KILLS! These are the small things that dictate the training session of each horse each day. Because no day is the same and neither is each training session.
Swayzees first time crossing water and first time on a real trail ride. He did amazing and handled everything perfectly ❤️

Chicadee 3rd ride
Take a look at this 2 year olds 3rd ride. It’s not much diffrent than her first! Rhythm, relaxation, and freedom of gait are already accomplished. With my program a majority of first rides go as smoothly as this. Teach a horse to play the game and when they play it beyond you that’s when you have a good one.
Kenzey & Chexy

McKenzie & Chexy
⭐️McKenzie got to ride her POA Chexy tonight. She did a great job learning her new buttons and riding Chexy. Chexy is green and still has a lot of training to go but is turning into a nice little pony.⭐️
Wyatt HUS
Wyatt got to try something new last week. I threw the hunt seat saddle on him to see how he would take to it and he did fabulous! He is a young horse with a LOT of motion! ☀️❤️
Wyatt: week into trot undersaddle
Wyatt is about a week of trotting under saddle and is taking everything in great stride. 😍 finally rhythmic, relaxed, and confident!
Macie lope work
Macie working on developing a balanced lope. Keeping her forward and encouraging hind end engagement is our main focus right now. Once she’s stronger speed control and headset will follow.
