Alright y’all we have got some Honda stuff to move ! Unfortunately, we misjudged the Honda market this year and went way overboard on inventory trying to make sure we had everything on hand for you all. Right now though we are seeing Honda sales at about 1/3 of what we typically see. This is holding up our capital on some larger projects so it’s time to get it gone !

Does anyone have accurate CAD models for OEM YFZ450R parts ? Looking to save some time and labor on my end and see if anyone has already 3D scanned and modeled some stuff ? Looking for mostly suspension related items - spindles, hubs, a-arms, frames, stems, etc. - anything like that

Also looking for some skilled reverse engineering help. I have about 100 projects open and / or in idea form that I need released. We are just too busy for me to sit down and design new stuff all the time. Looking for some folks who want to take on some side work designing new parts, weldments, assemblies and also fixturing, drawings, DXF files, etc. If you’re a skilled CAD designer / engineer / fabricator - let’s talk !

I’ve got some sweet ideas for the industry, just need 2 or 3 of me most days lol

Man those GNCC numbers sure look concerning!

From what I could see in live timing, it looks like the AM race was down about 90 riders over last year and the PM race was down about 40 riders from last year ! And last year was down just very slightly from 2023 !

Yeah, yeah I know it was cold and it was muddy , I get it, but dang those numbers hurt ! Hate to see it happening like this

Maybe it’s time for GNCC to rethink some things for us ATV folks…..

With King of Hammers happening right now, how about a throwback to our Hammers race car !

Watching all the hammers qualifying this week motivates a part of me that I need to find a way to fit into this ATV market. These race teams, companies, and builders are true craftsmen. It is literally the most amazing feat of mechanical engineering I have ever witnessed. The race promoters are constantly improving the event, making the course more challenging for the drivers, and giving more for the public to see and be involved with. The world of ATV racing could learn soo much from studying the ultra 4 series.

Where is our real engineering ? The ATV market has gone to a “build it bigger” mentality which I think is just basic engineering. We just make everything out of thicker material or convert things to steel so we can say “this will never bend”. We aren’t engineering things anymore. We aren’t paying attention to power to weight ratios or advanced technology. I think we at LS4 are trying to break this mold, but it’s incredibly hard because everything has to fit a price point. Everyone is competing for one main sport quad at this point. Our billet heal guards are the lightest on the market. I have been doing a lot of advanced titanium experimentation for some new designs but also converting some of our current parts over. We introduced a steel bumper over aluminum but got the weights within less than a pound. We try to think outside of the box. We try to not offer the same products you could buy 15 years ago. But at the same time, some products just have to be basic and budget friendly and that’s okay too. But I do find myself craving something better; something that could be an engineering feat or first of its kind. Maybe it’s time to build “the ultimate quad”. Question is though, who would buy it…Let’s be honest , just that phrase alone means it ain’t gunna be cheap. However, I know we have the skill to pull it off here.

Another YFZ450R Subframe heading out the door ! We strive to make everything with quality in mind. Yeah sure some welder will say they can do better, but keep in mind these are production welds. This is the kind of quality that comes out of our shop consistently every single day. I deal parts in this industry and I work on race machines all the time. I would put our production part quality up against anyone’s. And if there’s something we can do better, I’m all ears , we aren’t perfect, no company ever is, but one thing I can say for certain is that every day we wake up and try to be better than yesterday!

A lot of people ask about the background of certain product features. For example, on our heel guards, we bolt the nets on instead of fishing them through the triangle 3 hole buckles like everyone else. Why you ask ? The picture below is just one of about 1000 examples I’ve seen of these triangle net mounts being smashed or broken off. Heck, I’ve welded prolly 20 or 30 news ones on myself when performing powder coat repairs for customers. Not to mention when the nets get full of mud and have been pressure washed a few times , you have to dig them out with screw drivers and what not. So we came up with a better way to do it. Would we save a significant amount of money by using a similar system ? Of course. Could our product retail costs decrease slightly ? Sure. Our design has extra hardware, extra laser cut parts, the nets are more expensive to make that way, etc. but I like being different. I like thinking outside of the traditional box. I like solving problems and providing a quality product. These machines have been around for 30+ years. For me, it’s always fun to challenge the status quo. Keep looking for more innovation coming from LS4 in the future ! We are constantly combing through our designs, finding ways to improve, finding ways to be different, finding ways to hold more inventory. Lack of commitment to our business and the industry is not something you’ll see here !

Quality down to the smallest details ! Always trying to enhance our products both in function and style. Stainless brand plates added to our heel guards. We also powder coat over it to fill in the letter voids and then grind it nice and shiny!

After a couple years and many, many asks .. they are back ! Over 6 years ago, these were one of our very first products. At the time, I was on a KTM and nothing was available so I made my own poly sprocket guard and then eventually switched to Honda where I made my own for those machines as well. We made a few hundred of them, sold out quickly, but decided to not put the money back into them at the time since there were already so many competitors at the time. Well, here we are today, there still is a boat load of competition on these types of product because they are simple and require little skill and equipment to make. But customers have asked and asked for years for a return so we made it happen. These Poly sprocket guards are done the right way. Incredibly impact resistant UHMW material, light weight (which this is rotating mass by the way for you technical folks), relatively inexpensive, and just works very well for the application. We had riders get multiple seasons with our old guards. We also use aluminum inserts so you can get proper bolt torque. You cannot achieve proper bolt torque by clamping against the plastic. It is softer than metal, it will deform and your torque load will not hold on a critical fastener. We’ve got a bunch in stock and ready to roll. YFZ450R, YFZ450, Raptor 250, Raptor 700, TRX450, 400EX, 250R, 300EX, Warrior, Banshee, and KFX450R bolt patterns in stock !

Kicking off a new year with more new products ! We have got a lot of request over the years for more nerf bar and heel guard options and when we ask why customers see a need for this in the market; the answer is always price. The 4,5,6,700 dollar options are just too expensive. So we came up with a way to enhance the stock OEM foot peg and then will also sell upgraded nets for the rear allowing you to get rid of the plastic factory heel guards. Customers can also then use the $100 Alba nerfs or maybe we will even make nerf bar additions later on as well. Doing this allows you to have half the cost in a heel guard or nerf bar setup. And if you’re one of those that wants something better, we offer that too , but it has a higher price to match. Either way we will have an option that fits all budgets and all needs to try and best support our whole customer base - trail rider, casual enthusiast, full blown racer - we got you covered !
