Update to this post due to questions/concerns:
So that you are all aware of the lengths that we go through with a small staff of 2 please read the following. We do everything we can in an effort to make sure the owner/dog(s) are all safe. Yes, in some cases, an owner could be ill, could be hospitalized, could be incarcerated, may be on vacation and have someone that is supposed to be checking on the animals, could be injured and on the property/ in the home, etc. We have been to the property multiple times and have not found anyone home OR they are home and just not answering the door. Some people don't like to see marked vehicles and will not answer regardless of the reason.
We have a lot of resources and agencies that we utilize in our "detective" work, such as (but not limited to).....the auditor's office/website, sheriff's office, adult protective services, job and family services, the 911 center, vet offices, meals on wheels, mail carriers, utility offices,, etc. The person residing or staying at the residence, whether it's the owner of the dogs or someone else, is removing the notices that we have left. We have even spoken to a couple of neighbors, but they are not aware of what happens on the property or who comes and goes. We've called the phone number's that we have on file with our office (which are the same as what the sheriff's office has) (1 of the #'s the voicemail is full, and another we keep getting hung up on), we even called #'s that we found online--associated to the address that may or may not even truly be associated to anyone currently residing there (those just ring and ring), we've called #'s for family members and so far nothing. Next option is to have a certified letter from the prosecutors office sent. We use as many options and agencies as necessary...unfortunately some people don't want to respond to us.
UPDATE: 8/18/2024---
Arrived last Sunday.
Owner info, address, phone # are all on the momma dogs collar.
We have made several attempts to reach the person listed (by phone and going to the address).
Multiple Notices have been left at the address and the notices are being removed by someone (because they are gone when we go back) otherwise we would have requesteda well being check on the resident.
2 pups (prior to us getting them were hit and killed on the roadway).
Found in Harmony Township
We will be enlisting the help of other county resources to attempt contact.
****if you know who the owner is and he just doesn't want them----ask him to call us anyway. We would like info about them.
