Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Bud. He may have been smaller in size (Haflinger) he was huge in personality and heart ❤️ He originally came to our Sanctuary in 2005 and was adopted by a loving family with a daughter that grew up taking him through 4H and event. She was just stubborn enough to stick with him and he was just sweet enough to care for her. Unfortunately, life’s circumstance changed and Bud had developed serious cancer that would require surgery for survival and the family knew they could not afford it or his care after. They made the extremely tough decision to bring him back to the sanctuary in 2020 so he could once again get the care that he needed. His surgery resulted in losing a large portion of his p***s, bust it certainly did not take his manhood! Oh the stories we could tell about this boy, everybody loved him, and everybody had a good story about how he test tested them by either opening the gates on them or commandeering their muck bucket. His best friends were a Donkey and a Sheep Unfortunately, during a routine sheath cleaning while sedated for his dental, we learned his cancer was back. We continued hospice care, and when the vet was out yesterday to sedate him and see what could be done it was discovered it had gotten to the point that the kindest thing to do would be to let him go. He was tolerant, playful, bullheaded, stubborn, kind, steady, and will be greatly missed. If Bud has touched your life in one way or another, please feel free to share pictures in the comment section. We would love to see them. If you would like to donate to his final medical care cost, the donation link has been added or you can bust our website at www.circlepsanctuary.org
