Marianna Varsity Bulldogs Fall To Crestview Varsity Bulldogs Despite Strong Effort From Mason Mobley

Mason Mobley scored 23 points, but Marianna Varsity Bulldogs still fell to Crestview Varsity Bulldogs, 69-46, on Monday at Marianna High School.

Leading 29-28, Crestview Varsity Bulldogs went on a 15-point run to pull further away.

The second quarter was the best for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs, as they outscored Crestview Varsity Bulldogs 13-12.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs rebounded the ball well, collecting 33 rebounds. Brandon Angerbrandt led the team with 10 rebounds. Mobley knocked down three shots from beyond the arc for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs pressured the ball all game, collecting 12 steals. Lorenzo Barnes led the team with four steals. Barnes (7 points), Angerbrandt (5 points), Gabe Knaus (3 points), Jacobi Killings (3 points), Jamien Johnson (2 points), Ja’ques Spears (2 points), and Jordan Broxton (1 point) also pitched in for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs.

Crestview Varsity Bulldogs was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 24-27 on twos. Crestview Varsity Bulldogs shot well from distance, going 4-4 from three.

Mason Mobley Carries Marianna Varsity Bulldogs To Victory Over Cottondale

Mason Mobley scored 17 points to lead Marianna Varsity Bulldogs past Cottondale, 76-44, on Tuesday at Marianna High School.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs dominated from start to Ppfinish, never trailing in the game and leading by as many as 38 points at 74-36, on their way to a victory.

Trailing 22-11, Cottondale went on an 8-point run to close the gap. Leading 27-24, Marianna Varsity Bulldogs went on a 14-1 run to pull further away. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs had a strong first half, leading 41-25 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs had five assists in the third quarter, as they outscored Cottondale 31-10.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 22-41 on twos. Mobley, Ja’ques Spears, and Jacobi Killings each hit multiple three-pointers for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs. The team shot 7-17 (41%) from beyond the arc. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs rebounded the ball well, collecting 32 rebounds. Brandon Angerbrandt led the team with eight rebounds. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs passed the ball well with 13 assists on 29 made baskets. Also contributing for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs were Killings (14 points), Gabe Knaus (10 points), Spears (10 points), Angerbrandt (9 points), Lorenzo Barnes (8 points), Jamien Johnson (4 points), and RK White (4 points).

Cottondale's 15-21 shooting on twos was a key factor in the game.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs squeaked past Rutherford Varsity Rams, 50-49, on Friday at Marianna High School.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs trailed 33-21 at one point in the game before mounting their comeback.

Trailing 12-11, Rutherford Varsity Rams went on an 8-point run to take the lead. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs captured the win despite trailing 25-20 at halftime.

Marianna Varsity Bulldogs found their groove in the fourth quarter, outscoring Rutherford Varsity Rams 18-13. The team shot 6-9 in the quarter.

Mason Mobley led Marianna Varsity Bulldogs in scoring with 18 points. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs scored at will in the paint. They went 14-18 on twos. Mobley and Jacobi Killings each hit multiple three-pointers for Marianna Varsity Bulldogs. The team shot 5-12 (42%) from beyond the arc. Marianna Varsity Bulldogs passed the ball well with 14 assists on 19 made baskets. Jordan Broxton led the team with six assists. Mobley pounded the glass, collecting five rebounds to lead Marianna Varsity Bulldogs.
